NMLady Posted January 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Things might have changed since she just got out of dry dock. UPCHARGE: Il Adagio $10 East Meets West $20 Le Bistro $25 and something else I can't remember :) When we were on the Sun in Sept/Oct, the charge for Le Bistro was only $15 and the charge for East Meets West was $25. (per person charges) There was also Teppanyaki and I think Ginza. But I don't remember those charges since we didn't eat there. I'm really sorry to have Pacific Heights be changed to a Brazilian one. I guess that also means no more waffles or omelets there. :(

On a cruise in Nov 2009, the Sun allowed balcony passengers to eat in one of the main dinning rooms for breakfast. Does anyone know if that's still the case? bubbachief Posted January 26, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 26, 2011 I believe Il Adagio is open for breakfast and lunch for suite passengers. Is that what you are referring to? No. It was Four Seasons dinning room and was only open to balcony and above passengers for breakfast. I don't remember if the other dinning room was open for everyone. We ate a lot in the Pacific Heights for breakfast because it was a lot quieter than the buffet.

welove2cruise* Posted January 26, 2011 #12 Share Posted January 26, 2011 I think on the Epic it is $18 pp for Moderno. I am guessing it might be the same on the Sun.

I can't locate the reference, but it is in my notes for our upcoming SUN transatlantic) it was reported that Moderno would be charging $20. pp on the SUN. NMLady Posted January 30, 2011 #16 Share Posted January 30, 2011 where can someone get some chicken wings onboard the sun?? Sports Bar but only after 5:30pm. Sports Bar serves food (free) from 5:30pm to 5:30am. We had fish there several times and thought it delicious. I had a hamburger there several times too. (We were aboard for 33 days)

JKW2010 Posted January 31, 2011 #21 Share Posted January 31, 2011 yeah.. now all the specialty restaurants are pay :( We just got back on Saturday.. For dinner you can go to the main dining rooms, the buffet.. the sports bar.. or los rambles (they only have a few tapas) or a pay restaurant. welove2cruise* Posted February 16, 2011 #23 Share Posted February 16, 2011 i read where pacific heights was still open for breakfast and lunch then turns into the steak house at night! That is correct, the Moderno (Brazilian steakhouse) area is open for breakfast (breakfast pizzas, not sure about waffles) and lunch (deli food, sandwiches, pizza). I wish the Sports Bar was open 24 hours like the Blue Lagoon. It is a shame they don't have that as another alternative, especially since the buffet on the Sun was really terrible. mousecrazy Posted February 16, 2011 #24 Share Posted February 16, 2011 ... especially since the buffet on the Sun was really terrible. LOL...cuz I thought the Sun Garden Cafe's food was the best of any buffet (land and sea) I've experienced. The servers were, by far, the friendliest and most accommodating too. Totally disagree with this statement. Had a great buffet experience on the Sun during our 14-night South American trip. Loved the stir fry, salads, crepes, chocolate fondue and fruits.
