AmEx gift cards towards S&S?

We have two gift cards worth $100 each. We are setting up S&S with credit/debit card. Can we apply gift cards towards S&S?

It's easier if they are the ones with your name on them. Lots of places do not take the nameless ones.

Hmmm.. so anybody know if Carnival will take them? They are AmEx prepaid gift cards but no name on them....

I have a couple of these also and I think it would be GREAT to use them to pay down my S&S!!

Glad someone asked as I got $150 of them for Xmas. I was going to put on my S&S account then use them in the casino. Since we are not sailing till October I will also ask for an OBC from my DH and my mother for my birthday. This way I will have at least $350 to do with what I want. I did this last October on NCL and it worked out great.

I would double check with Amex. I had two and in the terms and conditions it stated they could not be used on cruise ships. Or out of the US.

I have Amex so I guess they wont work......oh well.

 

Maybe I'll use them to get take-out for dinner those first few nights after I get home and just can't seem to get back into the routine of grocery shopping/cooking/cleaning :D

I really believe the above quote. However, on my Liberty cruise Dec 2010, I used an AmEx gift card towards my S&S Account, no problem.

I have not doubt in my mind that there a work around so that you can. As usual, it's all a matter of know-how and who you talk to.

 

Speaking of which, would it be possible to buy Funship Dollars before the cruise with the gift card? Do they still offer Funship Dollars?
