Lengthy 3/6 Spirit Review (Not Positive)

Since I have no idea how to post an image of the letter, my tech-savvy son (at grad school in another state) has agreed to do it for me. Luckily, he also kept his copy of the letter. It should be posted here soon!

Linda

Thank you.

Linda in MI, thank you for going to all of the trouble to get the letter scanned and posted. There are a number of the people who sailed on the 3/6 cruise that will use this in their claims with insurance and credit card companies. Amex is well aware of the problems (they evidently have been inundated with callers from our cruise) and seems to be prepared to charge back items to NCL that were charged to cards.

If Mr. Sheehan doesn't bother to send an apology letter to each of the 1800+ passengers shame on him.

If I ever get a written response to my letter I will post it here.

Money money money. To give young people unlimited booze simply to make money is, to me anyhow, unconscionable.

The results should have been obvious to anyone with a brain rather than a cash register.

It would serve them right if they lost repeat business as a result of such a selfish, short sighted business decision.

My sincere sympathies to all those whose vacation was marred if not ruined by this business model.

Thanks :)! I am going to contact the insurance just in case they cover anything. Hope ya'll were able to have fun even after the rough start.

I had the free drinks in the Casino through Harrahs....and some others that did too definitely had too much. I had a guy being obnoxious next to me one night at Roulette. He kept knocking over his chips, spilling his drink on me, slurring his words and I kept thinking "why has this man not been cut off?". This man was in his 50's.

I don't have a problem with the drink cards, but like any bar or establishment someone needs to bring things to a halt when it is overdone. But NCL doesn't check tender tickets, kick kids out of adult areas or regulate the saving of deck chairs so I don't see them cutting someone off when they have had too much to drink. It is shame these folks ruined the cruise for others. I am glad the week after that for the most part people were better behaved.

I am going ahead and filing a claim with Access America for the "Day 1" portion of our cruise fair. In my insurance policy, it states that claims made be made if the cruise is delayed by six hours or more, which it was. I will include a copy of the letter about the delay. Thanks for posting it!

Linda,

Thank you VERY much for sharing the scanned letter. It will help immeasurably when trying to submit a claim to our Travel Insurance.

NCL was unwilling to share this information directly... ridiculous.

Folks, I'm sorry... My bad. I didn't realize I had booked an ADVENTURE CRUISE! I take back everything I typed...

Cold food in a dining room? Its an ADVENTURE! (With chandeliers!)

Drunken, belligerent, dangerously over-served spring breakers? ADVENTURE!!

Gosh, all this time I must have been a giant curmudgeon...

I am hoping for all of you affected getting home via air, that had trip insurance, that this clause will over you. this thread ha gone on forever, maybe a new one should start for those affected with expenses getting home for the delay. Let us know how travel insurance kicks in or not, may be an eye opener for us. thanks
