warmwinds Posted March 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2011 Two years ago they alternated one-week cruises to Canada/NE with Bermuda out of Cape Liberty. This year and next (2012) they only have a couple of long (14 day) cruises in the Fall. Since we want to couple this with a few days in New York, it is just too long to be away. Do I have to leave Celebrity to do this trip? Who would you recommend?

NancyIL Posted March 19, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2011 I don't remember Celebrity having shorter cruises to Canada in the past. RCI's Explorer alternates 5-night Bermuda cruises with 9 night Canada/New England and 9-night Caribbean cruises out of Cape Liberty in 2011. If you don't like Celebrity's 14-night roundtrips, then you might try the 10-night one-ways on Princess or Holland America.
zoncom Posted March 20, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2011 Just do a search for discount cruises. Plug in Canada cruises. Quite a few.

Jimsgirl Posted April 5, 2011 #8 Share Posted April 5, 2011 Cunard.. Do not think Cunard will suit. Recent reviews of Cunard, show that the product has become very "degraded" Poor service, indifferent food, high cost and low value. I recently did 29 day on QV, had many problems, including errors in accounting of OB Acccount, being told to change cabins half way through the cruise because incoming pasengers "REALLY want the cabin you have" (all my paper work showed I had booked that cabin for 29 days as long as 9 MONTHS in advance) . Have been waiting 33 days for my credit card to be refunded an over -charge of $65 , and was told yesterday that my file has been shifted around to 3 different depts, latest staffer said she had file, had not read it ,and probably would not get to it for another FOUR WEEKS!!! Will be cancelling the 3 cruises I have booked on QM2 for later this year. Thinking of doin the Infinity Seattle to Fort Lauderdale Canal cruise. Whippets Posted April 5, 2011 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2011 We are booked on a 7 day New England/Canada cruise on October 8th sailing out of NYC on NCL Jewel. We were in the same situation, could not be gone longer than a week. If you decide to book this there is a nice Roll Call already going.
booklady26 Posted April 5, 2011 #10 Share Posted April 5, 2011 Caribbean Princess does a 7 day round trip out of NY. We did that a few years ago. The only drawback is that it is extremely port intensive with 5 ports and only 1 sea day. I wouldn't mind the same itinerary in 9 or 10 days, giving more time to relax.
