cluelyss18 Posted March 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2011 A friend of mine is going on the Serenade of the seas in April leaving out of San Juan. Does anyone have any experience with a reliable transportation company to pick them up at the airport and drop them off at their hotel. They will be staying at the San Jaun Mariott Resort and Stellarias Casino and will be arriving the day before the ship leaves, unfortunately, the hotel does not offer airport transportation. Thank you for any help.
melbur Posted March 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2011 Cabs are plentiful at the airport, there will be no problem getting one.
39august Posted March 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2011 Yes, taxis are plentiful and rates are set. Very easy in San Juan.
Daycare Provider Posted March 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2011 Taxi's are the cheapest and the easiest....we sailed on the AOS out of Puerto Rico a few years ago...everywhere we went it cost us $15.00... Angela
JKYChildes Posted March 23, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2011 We stayed at that hotel this past September. There are plenty of taxis at the airport, and it is a set $15 fee to the Stelaris, but there is also a $1 per bag fee that is charged also. digital_curator Posted March 23, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 23, 2011 I agree with everyone above. We have only had 2 kinds of cab drivers in San Juan: Quiet and efficient Friendly and efficient We have never been ripped off but get your friends to get a card from the the guy at the taxi stand. They have the set prices and a place to write in the taxi number if the guy tries to rip you off (I always have just enough money in my hand for the fare and the bag fee, just in case). The concierge at the hotel could also help with a dispute. The cabs tend to be mini vans so there will be more than enough room for them and their bags. If they meet people at their hotel also going to the port they could share and save a few $$. Cheers,
Flyinman Posted March 23, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2011 We stayed there last week. Great Hotel. Yes it costs $15 plus $1 per bag and the same to get to the pier. We checked out at 11 and were at the pier by 11:30 am. There are taxis waiting outside the hotel. No need to worry about transportation.
TrishLoves2Cruise Posted March 24, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2011 Isn't there a reliable bus system or shuttle service from the airport to the cruise port?
orquidia Posted March 24, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 24, 2011 Isn't there a reliable bus system or shuttle service from the airport to the cruise port? they do not allow luggage inside bus, only a small or medium size backpack or small carry on luggage. only those hotels outside San Juan metropolitan area have shuttle service.
