sail7seas Posted April 15, 2011 Author #26 Share Posted April 15, 2011 Hi, saw a poster mention there was a collector's cocktail party....we'll be on the Eurodam beginning May 5 through 22 which is billed as a Collector's Cruise and wonder if we might have another party to go to!! :) Collector voyages have a few extra perks and since they are rolled together, there's also usually a little better price... Here's a sample from the top of my head and not a set rule. Say you're looking at a 10 day for 999/pp. Next week is a 10 day for 999/pp. Book the 20 day as a collector (1 booking number and a separate voyage number in our system) and it might be like 1799/pp or 1899/pp It's usually not a massive change unless there's a special promo... but a couple hundred is a couple hundred... whether it's used for shore ex, onboard purchases or the water bill when you get back home :) We used to get a small discount on back-to-backs with use of Promo Code "ZC". Rare erewhon Posted April 16, 2011 #30 Share Posted April 16, 2011 Our story. We booked the Vancouver to Auckland 29 night cruise on the Volendam for last year, shortly after the itinerary was announced. While on board the Statendam November 2009, decided to book the last Volendam Alaskan cruise of the 2010 season. The Future Cruise Consultant was able to book us the same cabin that we had selected for the Vancouver to Auckland journey, so we did not have to change cabins. The price for the week to Alaska was what was listed on the HAL website. During the week in Alaska we were surprised to receive a letter from the Captain and House Manager stating that as we were doing a Collectors Cruise, we would be given a dinner at the Pinnacle Grill, .....we could choose the last night of either cruise. (We did not realise that we were doing a Collectors cruise, thought that with the long flight to Vancouver, it would be just as easy to fly in a week early and do another cruise to Alaska, and stay on the ship in the same room to Auckland.) The room steward delivered a beautiful posy bowl of Carnations and Chrysanthemums and a plate of chocolates to our room. When I asked the Conceirge about this delivery, she stated that all the people staying on board the ship to Auckland received this gift. With regular watering, the flowers lasted about 3 weeks.
