Cruise friendly hotels in "frisco"

We are planning a cruise to Hawaii out of Frisco. Thinking of doing our own

air this time, and staying in Frisco for a couple of days, pre & post cruise.

Does anybody know some good cruise friendly hotels, with airport shuttles

and preferably close to the terminals. We are sure looking forward to coming from Canada and having a direct 1 hour & 40 minute flight.....

You gotta love it ~~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks for any info

I am assuming you mean San Francisco. We locals really don't like it called Frisco. There is a Frisco, Texas I believe.

The Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf is close to the cruise terminal. It also has a shuttle that runs to the airport - I think for $16. Must be reserved. This is a good place to stay that has a lot of things close by to do for a first-timer to San Francisco. I also like the Omni - but not as close to the pier.

The Sheraton at the Wharf is also close, but not sure about the particulars!!:) Hope this helps some. This is a wonderful city to spend some extra days.

Ouch, please refrain from using the term "Frisco" as you can tell it is offencive to the natives.

No Hotels in the City of San Francisco have Aiport shuttles. too far for that. You can use super shuttle or a taxi. Several Hotels are within walking distance of the pier. We've stayed at the Hilton and then walked to the ship.

Might try posting on the West Coast departure board for more results.

Whenever you stay, enjoy San Francisco, she is beautiful City!

Thanks everyone for all the information, about the hotels....

Strange about not liking the word "Frisco"...as that is always what

Canadians call it !!!!

Never heard that before, about it being offensive to some...if so

Sorry for that....????

That's San Francisco; and I don't even live there.

You might look at the Best Western hotel chain. There's one about 6-8 blocks from the cruise terminal; the Best Western Tuscan Hotel. Some of the folks going on the Alaska cruise this coming September are staying there. I'm contemplating taking the train in a day early and stay there myself & play tourist for a day!

I love San Francisco and learned many, many years ago to call it by

its proper name;):):D. I am sailing out of San Diego in May going up

the coast and we have an overnight stay in San Francisco! I am so

excited...I absolutley love it there!!!

There are so many fun and funky B&B's in the area...why not try one

of those....you can get a real taste of the city that way:D

I can recommend a darling little hotel a few blocks off the Wharf so you're not right in the "tourist" traffic flow but close enough to walk down there to noodle around. It's the Tuscan Inn (Best Western) and I've stayed there twice, while attending Wine events in "The City". Yes, we locals call it "The City" but not Frisco, sorry. They have their own Italian Restaurant attached and there is a great Breakfast Diner a few blocks up with a girls name, sorry can't remember exactly.

Your shuttle or taxi ride will be a straight shot down the Embarcadero to the ship. If I were cruising from there I would stay at the Tuscan Inn again for sure.

san francisco is a very small compact town. so if you want to do tourist things, stay anywhere on the northeast or east (union square) part of town. great public transportation and good walking...if you know where you are going.

we are The City, or SF, or if you are really old school--Baghdad by the Bay..

the cruise ships take off from the eastern waterfront piers.

you can refer to Los Angeles as "L.A." Some of us Angelenos will even call it "La La Land," but I'm not sure if it's offensive to my fellow natives. Where I live is "The Valley" (the San Fernando Valley), even though there's also a San Gabriel Valley. Orange County is referred to as "The OC." We sometimes call Las Vegas "Vegas," but I'm not sure what people from there call it.

I haven't ever heard of San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, many others being nicknamed by Californians (and yes, even we Southern Californians know not to abbreviate that city by the bay).

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express it was an easy walk to the port (Pier 35) the next day with rolling suitcases

Walgreens World Market & Trader Joe's close by

Lots of restaurants & sites within walking distance

We took a shuttle from the airport to the hotel for around $12 pp

TIP: skip the scrambled eggs at breakfast there
