Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted April 20, 2011 #26 Share Posted April 20, 2011 We do have it reserved already. I just wasn't thrilled with eating in the galley as we did on the Dream. Obviously there are others who have very different opinions on this one. I will assume that the disco ball and music are not going while we are eating:D We had an interesting table mate (the big guy behind us) for our meal in the disco on the Miracle! :D Tom

ChefSusan Posted April 20, 2011 #28 Share Posted April 20, 2011 We had Chef Andrew on Freedom back in October, and he did a really good job sharing with us the inspiration behind each of the items that we tasted. I really wanted to take pictures of the food, but alas was told that since it was proprietary, no photos were allowed. We're thinking about possibly doing the Chef's Table on Magic in a couple of weeks. Everything will depend on how our S&S is looking, as well as whether or not I am able to win any $$$ playing Fun 21 in the casino!
PatrickZJD Posted April 20, 2011 #29 Share Posted April 20, 2011 ...I really wanted to take pictures of the food, but alas was told that since it was proprietary, no photos were allowed.... Ooooh, that's interesting. As a visual of a particular recipe isn't necessarily copyrightable as a recipe but instead just as a photovisual work of art (yes, I'm an intellectual property attorney), I wonder if this means that a newer cookbook may be in the works? My wife would very much enjoy adding it to her collection if so!
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted April 20, 2011 #30 Share Posted April 20, 2011 ... as well as whether or not I am able to win any $$$ playing Fun 21 in the casino! I trust you are using the appropriate strategy for that game (essentially Spanish 21) since there are no queens in the deck! People will generally freak when the see you hit (for example) your 13 when the dealer shows a 5 !! That is when they think they know how to play, but are not actually aware of the game they are playing (that itself can make the game fun)! :D Tom
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted April 20, 2011 #31 Share Posted April 20, 2011 Not all the chef's have a problem with you taking photos of the dishes (assuming you are not in the galley)! Tom
MissyMac13 Posted April 20, 2011 #32 Share Posted April 20, 2011 We did the Chef's Table on the Ecstasy last month and the appetizers were served in the galley, with dinner served in the library. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was a great experience and a wonderful meal.
happy cruzin Posted April 20, 2011 #33 Share Posted April 20, 2011 Not all the chef's have a problem with you taking photos of the dishes (assuming you are not in the galley)! Tom Agreed.....we too were in the disco on the Miracle, with "Frankie" and I took a picture of each item - from the bread right through dessert!! I even documented the "building" of each dish - by taking a picture everytime they added an item to the plate.....for example the soup bowl with the roasted corn and tomatoes and then a seperate picture once the soup was added to the bowl ;) :D. Karrde Posted April 20, 2011 #35 Share Posted April 20, 2011 I wonder if this means that a newer cookbook may be in the works? Or someone was just being cranky that day. Our Chef had no problems with photography as seen in my album, and the cameras in our group shot: Chef Franky even let me "break" the no photos in the Galley so that I could take a pic of my Sister-in-Law making the Melting Chocolate Cake. Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted April 20, 2011 #39 Share Posted April 20, 2011 Suddenly....I am HUNGRY!! :D ;) :D That bowl was quickly emptied. It would have been TOTALLY clean, but Cheryl frowns upon me wiping the bowl with a piece of bread - or putting it up to my face and using my tongue. Not sure why she is that way, LOL! :D Tom
jbhcw Posted April 20, 2011 #40 Share Posted April 20, 2011 Just off the Pride last week...Champagne and apps in the galley and then the meal in the Disco...what an amazing experience...so worth the money:):):) We started at 6:15 and were finishing up dessert a little after 10..and the wine never stopped flowing....finally had to say NO MORE or we could not have walked back to our cabin:eek: 7 couples and only one jacket...so it was resort casual. happylady Posted April 21, 2011 #48 Share Posted April 21, 2011 Okay...got past the "dress code" problem....told DH he could wear jeans and a nice shirt! My next problem is that even though I never considered myself a picky eater....I guess I am. :o I don't like mushrooms (thank you Mr. Becker from 7th grade science---just hearing the word fungus makes me cringe) and fish (I grew up in NE Ohio during the time when Lake Erie had some horrible pollution and the Cuyahoga River caught on fire...so, no, my Mom never cooked fish and my only exposure were fish sandwiches on Friday at McDonald's...just never acquired a taste for it). I've read where the chef will try to accommodate those that are less adventurist....is it a problem?

I've read where the chef will try to accommodate those that are less adventurist....is it a problem? It wasn't when we were on the Miracle ;). The Chef provided non seafood items for some who were allergic and a cooked choice instead of the tartare for a couple of others. Personally - we made the decision to "try" everything and are VERY glad we did. I too would have said that I did not enjoy "fish"......but the Chilean Sea Bass was one of my favorite parts of the whole meal!
Karrde Posted April 21, 2011 #50 Share Posted April 21, 2011 I've read where the chef will try to accommodate those that are less adventurist....is it a problem? See my album for your answer, including the description on the apps. I don't eat seafood, my wife doesn't eat beef. The substitutions were still wonderful. My Sister-in-law also has a seed allergy, and her dishes came out just like everyone else minus the seeds.
