Cruise Agencies specializing in Veterans

Recommended Posts

Most cruise lines give discounts for veterans. When you call/use on line booking tell them or check you are a veteran. Shop for a cruise like you do for a car. However Royal Caribean & Carnival do not let TAs offer price below theirs so a TA can't offer lower price (both do have lower prices for veterans).

Princess, Royal, NCL, Celebrity, Carnival to name a few offer military discounts on some of their sailings. Sometimes the discounts do not come until closer to sailing such as Royal and Celebrity and some like Carnival and Princess will have a promotion at booking. NCL will sometimes be having one at booking but keep checking because they do sometimes offer military discounts after booking too - Just keep checking.

If you go and do a "pretend" booking on either Carnival or RCCL, it will give the option to check if you are (1) over 55 (2) current member or retired military (3) current or retired policeman. Click them on and you can see the price. If you use a site that compares cruiselines, etc. and it pulls up prices, you can see the dates that a particular promotional gives a discount to vets, policemen, etc. It's not an across the board discount. It will only apply to a specific sailing on a particular ship. It has never worked out for us due to dates we have available to cruise and the dates they offer the promotions.

Both Princess & Cunard offer OBC's to qualifing veterans .:)

In addition both cruise lines best rates may be discounted more, by any TA who wants your business.;)

Celebrity also has some very attractive special pricing for veterans (not on all cruises) that can be terrific bargains on last minute (inside the final booking period) cruises. We ourselves took a 12 day cruise last year in a large outside cabin for about $43 a passenger day. Celebrity also has a very liberal definition of eligible veterans which extends the benefit to nearly any veteran who was honorably discharged after 2 years in the service (or 6 months in a war zone).
