momtoabowhead Posted June 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2011 This is the photo on the CC main page - anyone know what ship it is? I tried to figure it out myself, but failed miserably. Thanks!! This photo is borrowed from CC for identification. Thanks in advance for any help.
aloanldy Posted June 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2011 It is one of the new Solstice Class Ships.
Rare cruisestitch Posted June 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2011 I'm pretty sure it's the Equinox.
marieps Posted June 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 5, 2011 I just blew up the picture...Hard to read the stern but the last character looks like an X, which could only mean Equinox. I agree with the last poster.
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2011 I also enlarged the photo. Like the others, I do think it is the Equinox. Keith

Rare cruisestitch Posted June 5, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 5, 2011 Fun! I'll guess the Italian coastline between Livorno and Cinque Terre.

momtoabowhead Posted June 5, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted June 5, 2011 Thanks y'all! I love this ship, looks sooo pretty. Adding to my list of "must cruise" ships.
Gitte Posted June 5, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 5, 2011 I looked at the properties of the pictures and it is the Equinox. :D celebrity-equinox-aft-big-home.jpg Gitte ;)
Rare Seapoint Posted June 6, 2011 #11 Share Posted June 6, 2011 It is either the Equinox or the Eclipse. It is definately not the Solstice, as the "X" on the funnel of Solstice is smaller, and it has a large "X" formed on the glass of balconies of the hump. I continue to be puzzled that Celebrity has decided to put the "X" logo only on the front funnel. Any idea why this is the case?
Cote d'or Posted June 6, 2011 #12 Share Posted June 6, 2011 I looked at the properties of the pictures and it is the Equinox. :D celebrity-equinox-aft-big-home.jpg Gitte ;) "Elementary, my dear Watson." ;)
ariawoman Posted June 6, 2011 #13 Share Posted June 6, 2011 How about bonus points for anyone who can identify the nearby land? :) I'm putting my guess in for Dubrovnik, Croatia just for kicks lol. I'll be on that ship in october :-)

Don't worry; when I checked the properties on the photo it did not identify the pictures as the Equinox. :D
jt1120 Posted June 7, 2011 #17 Share Posted June 7, 2011 Yes, OP, you must book a cruise on a Solstice class ship. We were on the inaugural of the Solstice herself and it was spectacular, and our favorite of all of the ships we've sailed. You will not be disappointed. For S-class fans, I'm wondering why they didn't continue the trend of putting the "X" on the hump like they did on the Solstice. I think they originally were planning not to put an "X" on the funnel and lots of people balked so they reluctantly added it. I think, so don't quote me on that. I remember when she was being built there was lots of talk about the "no X" funnel. That was already 3 years ago! Wow does time fly when you're having fun cruising! Cote d'or Posted June 7, 2011 #18 Share Posted June 7, 2011 Don't worry; when I checked the properties on the photo it did not identify the pictures as the Equinox. :D Maybe you checked the picture in the first post ? Because the one on the CC main page definitely did mention "celebrity-equinox-aft-big-home.jpg" in the properties, as Gitte posted.;)

You will not be disappointed I'm trying to achieve platinum with Carnival before I start branching out. At this rate, three or four years and I'll start testing other lines. I love the look of this ship for some reason. It looks fairly epic.
