Whats your favorite thing to do on a cruise ship?

To me, nothing beats Sail Away. Especially out of JAX, Miami, or NOLA. Everyone is geeked, you have that first drink in your hand, and watching the envious people along the shore watching as you sail away is priceless. Sail Away out of NOLA was espcially interesting, with all the things along the river on the way to the gulf. Its at this point it hits you: My vacation has started!

Getting away from everything, no phones, no family issues, no work.

Someone to cook and clean up.

A variety of food available whenever I'm hungry, and even when I'm not really hungry.

Drinking on the Lido deck, watching the sun go down on the Lido deck, people watching on the Lido deck.

Exploring the ship.

Trying new foods and activities.

I love the feeling of not having to get up for work. Enjoying a great day starting with a nice breakfast, pool chair and a good book, couple DOD's, maybe a short nap in the chair and head back to room to get ready for dinner. After dinner a nice drink and then a comedy show or another show. What more could a mom ask for, no cooking, no cleaning, just enjoying.

Can't wait, I only have 44 more days left before I get this feeling again!

Making the final payment on your cruise although you're technically not on the ship.

Standing on the gang plank knowing your one person away from getting your picture taken on your sign & sail card.

The first drink of the day

the second drink of the day (and you're still in port)

Coffee from room service and watching the sun rise on the Balcony.

Double Rainbows over St Maarten (OH MY GOD it's a double rainbow)

There are no children around and the slide is all yours.

Knowing that for a few days you won't have to worry about work, the animals, random drama.

Adding to most other things already said...sleeping on the moving ship..always loved that about travel..NOT on the plane ..someday would love first class overseas air and a stretch out bed like they have...but slept on train a couple tmes in Europe and an overnight ferry there as a kid and then moving on a cruise ship for my cruises..I love feeling the gentle motion and sleeping..even loved some fairly stormy seas..not bad bad..but stormy.

My favorite thing to do on a cruiseship is...Oops, this is a G-rated site....Nevermind.....

Really though, it is being with friends on the cruise....

To bad I am not able to this year due to some issues that have made doing that impossible....

I am so sorry you are not able to cruise this year, my heart goes out to you. We have been

in the same boat............wow same boat........any way it will be almost 4 years by the time to go in Nov this year. But hang in there, things will get better for you!!

I will be leaving on my 14th Carnival cruise in Sept. aboard the Dream. I always travel with my mother, now 80, and my son who will be 20 when we go. So most of my time on board I am with one or both of them. Not that I mind having this time with them, on the contrary. It is wonderful! But my favorite thing to do on a cruise is to find a nice spot by myself on an open deck while the ship is at sea and watch the ocean. So peaceful and relaxing! Talk about feeling totally detached from everything at home! What a beautiful, wonderful way to escape! I always find some "me time" on every cruise to watch the waves go by!:)

I'm not sure why we only take naps on cruises; but the motion of the boat just rocks us gently to sleep.

:D

Oh good, I thought it was just me that enjoys sleeping on a cruise. I mean, sure, I love the food and the shows and the service and the shore excursions, etc., etc.......but seriously, isn't that the BEST sleep EVER???!!!!!

Of course, I also wont lie....what I love to do on cruises, is; eating, drinking ( dod's, and gin and tonics, wine with dinner ), and playing slots in the casino, as well as exploring ports of call, some familiar, and some new ones. Also love to lounge on deck 3 off the atrium area of Conquest class ships, not a lot of activity there, but you can hear the waves. I also enjoyed the Serenity area on Freedom for the first time last year. There is more, but that is it for now.:)
