Whats your favorite thing to do on a cruise ship?

I enjoy people watching on lido, also I like to sit near the guest services desk and just kind of listen to people complain.

Some have very valid issues but most you can tell are just people who will never be happy and want something for free. Those who work the guest services desk should get hazard pay for all the BS they have to listen to.

Fun to watch though.

And screaming "Whos your captain?" all night long! LOL:D:o

:D

Well, I thought of adding:

Playing "adult" movies at full volume all night long

I was trying to answer all the recent and recurring complaints here on the boards - but I forgot the "Who's your Capitan!? quote!

Can you tell I was in an onery mood this morning? :D

Yes to MOST of everything already listed.

Seeing/Watching the faces of the Cruise Virgins we take with us. From the first time they see the ship, dropping off luggage and they are still looking up at the size of the ship, when they first cross the gangplank and enter the Atrium, this list goes on and on.

Love CRUISING and everything about it!!!

ssshhh I like to get up early and order room service for myself while everyone else sleeps. I go out on the balcony by MYSELF and have some caffeine and pastries, muffins, etc. in peace and quiet. Then I get rid of the tray and any evidence before anyone wakes up.

Pathetic right? It's even more pathetic when I go for a second breakfast on LIdo and tell my son not to eat junk like a danish for breakfast...............

Just being in the moment with my children. Away from what's happening in the real world - no tv, cell phones, computers, practices, meetings, interruptions...

Couldn't agree more! Had to tell DH we had to take a cruise vacation so his work couldn't call him...every 5 minutes...it's so peaceful and it really is a break away from EVERYTHING!

The first thing that comes to mind, are the daily naps with my DH. I'm not sure why we only take naps on cruises; but the motion of the boat just rocks us gently to sleep.

DOD specials :D

Black Jack in the casino

No cooking, cleaning or major decision making for a whole week :D

One of my favorite things to do is waking up before dawn, and taking a cup of coffee as far forward as I can get and watching the sun come up with the wind in my face.

There's no better way to wake up than that. It really gets your day started right.

I don't have just one.....

1. Getting that first DOD on the LIDO deck after boarding.

2. Sailing away from port knowing that no one will be able to get ahold of me for work or family "drama".

3. Laying out on the upper AFT deck with DD(14) and DS(17) watching the ships wake, reading my book and chilling with the kids.

4. Going to the shows with DD while she critiques all the dancers.

5. Listening to DH and DS laugh and relax in the comedy clubs.

6. Playing trivia and other games with the kids hoping to win that elusive ship on a stick.

7. Spending some one on one time with DH in the Casino and late night clubs.

8. Doing something new and different and every port.

9. Watching the kids have a blast playing basketball, mini-golf, and ping-pong together.

10. Watching DD preen in front of the cameras in the new cocktail dress we spent months finding for her and then trying to get that one great shot together as a family.

11. Having all our meals together as family....something we get very little of during our daily life with our busy schedules.

12. Having someone else cook and clean up after us.

13. Watching the kids be daring and try new foods (and trying a few myself).

I'm sure there is so much more (but I'll stop at DS's lucky number 13)......

Rising early and going up to the Lido deck....grab a cup of coffee and take out my wooden indian flute and play as the sun comes up, serenading the sunrise.

People watching.

Eating.

Dressing up for dinner, and being spoiled rotten.:D

My favorite thing about cruising is sitting on my balcony enjoying the ocean view....and the night sky.

When the ship is moving....the ocean lapping against the boat sounds like the surf at the beach. Looking out and seeing nothing but the ocean and at night the moon and stars in abundance.....priceless. And is why I cruise:)
