AnitaVacation Posted August 25, 2011 Author #126 Share Posted August 25, 2011 .Also calling CAS is the only way to go from here on in for us.....Cheapest Rates , FREE Drinks and Specials in the room...:D I agree!! I hope the CAS offers keep coming!! This is the first time we've taken the offer.....and we're saving approx 60% on the cost of the cruise...(plus FREE drinks!)....however, now I have to book airfare and a hotel....but we are still saving approx $1000 overall............. Our first time taking the offer, too - hopefully won't be our last! We decided to drive down to Florida this time. Airfare would be more than the cruise..LOL Figured we could take 2-3 days down & the same on the way back for about the same price (or less) than flying this time. (only because DH gets sent out of town for work a lot - therefore generating LOTS of hotel points for free rooms!) So we'll get a really long vaca this time - with a 7 day cruise in the middle! :D

I noticed that the Mini-suites are now same price as the balcony I booked. So..thought I'd see if we can get moved. Well, the person I got said.. "I'm sorry, you booked with special promo - which is now over. You cannot upgrade - even with paying more $$ - on this reservation. There are no changes allowed. " Now, a few days after booking, I called CAS to get prices on upgrades and asked if there was a time limit on upgrading - was told "You will need to upgrade by a week before sailing"... I was thinking GREAT, might do a last minute upgrade... Guess not now. Oh well.... least we have a balcony and know that we'll be happy with that. That's weird.....did you book with a special promo other than a CAS offer?? ....this was the third time I moved us without a problem...the original offer was for a 'complimentary' inside stateroom, which I booked....then about a week later, I upgraded to a balcony....then I discovered that we had an 'open' balcony, so I moved us to deck 10....then this past monday, I moved us to deck 12 (and closer to the elevator) and today, the B6's dropped so I moved us back to deck 10 and got the lower price....no problems....balance due in a few weeks..... You might want to try to call again....sometimes a different rep will get you different results (see my previous posting regarding this)..... gooch47 Posted February 18, 2014 #133 Share Posted February 18, 2014 We get them all the time. We did one in November, two in January (b2b), and just got back from another b2b. We get offers in the mail or email and have to go to the casino to pick up the certificates on a certain day. Except this last time. We were on a cruise already, we got one from two different casinos. One casino host mailed it to us, the other just held it for us.

Fishbait17 Posted February 18, 2014 #136 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Has anyone received any of the mail offers from Harrahs or Casinos at Sea lately??? I have gotten several since the beginning of the year. One from Harrah's properties in Atlantic City and another from the same in Vegas. Three separate mailers from CAS for tournaments, including at least three dates on each. They're still coming, even though I've never used one yet! CasinoCruzGirl Posted February 18, 2014 #137 Share Posted February 18, 2014 I received a "free cruise" from Taj in Atlantic city. It was for an inside cabin for any 7 night cruise taken within a year. The rate was $300 pp for fees and taxes pp. great deal but I decided to upgrade to a balcony total for two was $1300. My niece decided to join me and my sister In law bringing the total to $2000. Then I saw prices go down and upgraded the 3 of us to a spa balcony for $180. No brainer for us since we are cruising this coming March 23 and the weather so iffy the spa will be very welcome. This upgrade was after final payment. I have never cruised on NCL as a matter of fact I haven't cruised in over 10 years. Last week I also received a comp cruise from the Atlantis in the Bahamas for carnival which I am going to pass on I rather stick with one cruise line going forward. As we speak I am enjoying the wonder weather out here in Las Vegas. I really needed to get away from the horrible New Jersey weather hoping to hit a jackpot to bring with me on my cruise. CasinoCruzGirl Posted April 13, 2014 #139 Share Posted April 13, 2014 Where do you sign up to get these offers? It's not a matter of signing up for these offers. It depends on your play at your land casinos Or if you play at an NCL casino you sign up for a players card on the ship.

rgruenhaus Posted October 7, 2015 #141 Share Posted October 7, 2015 For everyone who gets the CAS offers, are you slot players or table games? On a cruise I go to the casino every day but I am a table games person and I have never received any offers. I just may not be gambling "enough money" but time wise I am there. I play a slot machine here and there but I like my card games ;) Also do they give you anything if you already have a cruise booked? Slot player here. Don't know why these comments aren't sorted by recent dates first and if they are, geeesh, 2011? I got my cruise offer from the Horseshoe Casino in Tunica. About $600 with an ocean view upgrade for an extra $120. Rebooked when they offered UBP just paid taxes and service fees for that. I am entered for the slot tournament for a $20 entry fee. Boarding 01 Nov 15.
rgruenhaus Posted October 13, 2015 #142 Share Posted October 13, 2015 Has anyone received any of the mail offers from Harrahs or Casinos at Sea lately??? I have not! The year before I had gotten one in the mail and by email but none so far this year and my brother and I played at the Horseshoe again this year as the year before the offer. Maybe they wanted more play or they aren't connected with NCL like they were last year. I might check with my host there.
Sand and Seas Posted October 14, 2015 #143 Share Posted October 14, 2015 Las Vegas Harrah's/Caesar Entertainment casinos have a NCL cruise giveaway scheduled for Oct 30 & 31st. Minoushka Posted October 14, 2015 #144 Share Posted October 14, 2015 So...we got a postcard from NCL Casino at Sea with a free cruise offer.... I checked it out online...blah blah blah....so, finally yesterday I called to get the details...............:o Of course the 'free' cabin was an inside stateroom and we would have to pay for taxes & fees (as expected).....I inquired about upgrading to a balcony....and the total, for 2, with taxes & fees would be approx $780!! And we can use our $250 cruise certificate too! (so, $530 today) (This would be for the EPIC in early Dec)...we would also have to fly to Miami (approx $600 r/t, or less for both of us).... So...for approx $1100 we can take a 7night cruise on the EPIC...I think that is a pretty sweet deal!! Of course my husbands' first question was 'how much to upgrade to a suite?'....But, I'll be happy with the balcony...(plus hubby gets $50 in free play)....:D We have until the end of July to decide.............(no brainer, right?) The only thing that is making my husband hesitant is the we just got back from a 4 day cruise (nyc to canada) and in Sept we are going on an 8 day cruise to Bermuda....so our 'cruise fund' account is pretty wiped out right now....BUT IT'S SUCH A GREAT DEAL!! You should get a drink card for the casino bar only as Casino guest

Is the UBP useable in the casino? When you mention a casino bar does that mean they don't have servers and you have to go get your own drinks? What would the tipping process be like. Cash? Yes, you can use your UBP in the casino (I believe CAS actually prefers it, so they don't have to "pay" NCL for your comped drinks). There are usually a few things that the CAS drink card covers that the UBP does not (think bottle of water, latte, and energy drinks). All the NCL ships I have been on have a casino bar with bartenders and also have servers making the rounds, so you don't have to go get your own drinks. I have been on a few, but expect the remaining ones to be like the ones I have been on. As for tipping, I follow every drink with $1 cash. I do this whether in the casino or just using the UBP anywhere on the ship.....it works for us....the bartenders get to know us, the servers get to know us, and we don't have issues getting a drink when we want one. Just our philosophy, but hope it helps. Edited October 14, 2015 by clcjdn

I have heard some say that the casino drink card is something a player is given after a certain amount of play and then others say it is given when you get a casino at sea account/players card. Any idea which? Thanks again. I sail on breakaway on 01 Nov
CruisinHarvey Posted October 14, 2015 #150 Share Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) We got a mailing from Horseshoe Cincinnati, for a free cruise voucher pickup on October 18th. That's our home casino. Caesars will always be giving these away sporadically, since the same holding company owns them and NCL. Not sure if we're going or not. We've played enough on NCL that we don't need Caesars vouchers anymore. We just call CAS and tell them when we want to go. Usually we get a overview cabin for free, and upgrade to balcony. As far as drinks go, if you go using Caesars or CAS reservations your drinks in the casino are free. There will be cards in your room upon arrival. One interesting point. UDP doesn't cover bottled water. The Casino drink pass does. Edited October 14, 2015 by CruisinHarvey
