oaktreerb Posted July 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2011 On those ships that do not have a self service laundry, what if you need to iron something? Is there a room with ironing facilities for last minute touch ups?

RuthC Posted July 20, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2011 If something absolutely, positively needs ironing, it can be sent out for pressing. If it's a dress shirt for formal night, the jacket will cover most of the shirt anyway. Collar, cuffs, and front tab nead to look pressed, and good packing should take care of that. The best time to minimize the need for ironing is before you even leave home. Fold things neatly, and pack them in dry cleaner bags. When you get to the cabin, hang them in a steamy bathroom. You can also use Downey Wrinkle Release spray.
sail7seas Posted July 20, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2011 My DH's shirt go out for laundering at home and he gets starch. I pack them in dry cleaner bag, flat in garment bag and when I unpack them, they do not need ironing. If they did, we do as Sher suggests...... send them out. Pressing is a very minimal charge. RevNeal Posted July 20, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2011 I send my Dress shirts (Tuxedo shirts and clergy shirts) out for the ship's professional laundry service. They wash, dry, press, and starch them.
