Formal night on Enchantment 5 day to Bermuda?

Recommended Posts

We just did this cruise 2 weeks ago. It is the second day. On Sunday night and people do dress up.

And, no, it wasn't "archaic"

Almost everyone dressed up and we saw lots of tuxes and more long dresses than I've seen in a while.

I just got off Enchantment and I had a much different experience. It was indeed the second night but there were TONS of people who didn't dress up. I'm talking old t-shirts and cargo shorts with sneakers.

Can't believe they will have a formal night on a 5 day cruise. Do I really have to wear a tux or suit? Anyone else think formal nights on short cruises are archaic?

They will.

You don't.

I don't.

That's disgusting. That's marginal for breakfast, let alone formal dinner.

At dinner in the MDR? We didnt' experience that at all, not even on casual nights.

I do have to say, the entire tone of our cruise was very different than some we've been on. Extremely polite, well dressed, cruisers (adults and children) I told DH that it seemed to be a more overall upscale group of people.

Something else we noted was that we only saw like 3 smokers the entire trip. One in the casino and two out on deck (one with a cigar). Normally, the more educated someone is, the less likely they are to smoke. It was so nice not to walk through a haze of smoke anywhere.
