Weather in early October

Recommended Posts

It can be cold or warm here in Montreal in October. It just depends on Mother Nature. We have had snow for Halloween, and other years gone out without any jacket. You will just have to check closer to your date of departure to prepare for the trip. As far as foliage goes, though, October will definitely be better. Sept 3 is too early for the fall foliage.

Hurricane season in the Atlantic is from June 1 to Nov 30 so the cruise would still be in season.

IMHO, your chance of seeing better foliage is doing the October cruise. For example, the best time to see foliage in Bar Harbor, ME & Acadia National Park is Columbus Day, observed.

As for weather, I would not call the weather in October to be cold. Just dress in layers and you'll be prepared for whatever Mother Nature provides.
