Check out the Fun Times, drop stuff in room, Lido for a salad and sandwich, hang out, walk around, check out table in MDR.

On our cruise 9/4/11 we have a big meet 'n greet in the bar that will be a blast! Cyn did a lot of work to get that put together.

If you plan to do the Behind the Fun tour, go to purser's desk as soon as you board to sign up.

Of all my galleries, the Sailaway is the one I come back to most frequently. Reliving the feeling of euphoria of the beginning of a cruise!

I do what most others do, lunch and D0D's on Lido and explore with camera in hand.

I don't know whether to thank you for putting up the beautiful pictures, or curse you for making the cruise withdrawal worse. 8 more months til my next cruise. Boo hoo.

This thread is getting me really pumped about our cruise. The only problem is that its in Feb!!! I can't wait that long. I've only been on one cruise and it was the infamous fog cruise out of Galveston last Feb. We didn't board till about 7pm and we didn't take off till early the next morning while everyone was sleeping so we didn't get to do much that day. What we did was go to our rooms, unpack and go have dinner. Since we were in port (Galveston) the casino was closed and the bars closed shortly after 2am. Needless to say, my first embarkation sucked so reading all of these has me excited about what we're going to do this time around. There's 11 of us going this time so we're going to have a blast!!!

I was very envious of the group of little old ladies who wore their swimsuits on board so they could immediately jump into the hot tub.

I think we're going to follow their lead, and start off in a hot tub with drinks in our hands as soon as they'll let us in the hot tub!

My ritual is to get a reuben (double meat, double cheese, double thousand island) and a drink and find a seat and watch people. I guess I'm hoping for another incident like the spectacular blond who had a major wardrobe malfunction (suffered extreme fallout) on the Pride a couple of years ago.

UNPACK. USUALLY..WE BOARD LATE and usually our luggage arrives soon after. Sometimes we have unpacked before Muster. We have it down to a science. We bring hangers with the clingy stuff to keep them up. I take them out of the suitcase..put it on a hanger ..hand it to DH...then undies in the drawers.. his shorts on shelves...then shoes ...on shelves..suitcases under the bed..

AND LET THE FUN BEGIN.......IF AFTER MUSTER..DINNER AS WE EAT AROUND 6...THEN THE CASINO FOR DONATIONS...THEN A SHOW..THEN BED. THEN DREAMING AND ANTICIPATING A WONDERFUL DAY.

NOTE..The cabins on Princess are smaller..but those Walk In Closets..and the shelves outside the bathroom.......MISS THEM.

NOTE...The sofa on Carnival..NICE. GLAD TO BE BACK.

THE BEDS ON CARNIVAL........GLAD TO BE BACK

THE TRIVIA AND OTHER ADULT MIND GAMES ON PRINCESS...MISS THAT

CARNIVAL FOOD.......GLAD TO BE BACK

INTERATIONAL CAFE........MISS MISS MISS THAT DELIGHTFUL PLACE.

I grab a good cold beer and dh has a gimlet. We then head to buffet, eat and people watch. Back to the cabin and if we are lucky, our luggage is there. And, this sounds a terrible way to start a cruise, but it is the best time to iron if you have anything that needs it and I always do. The laundry room is usually empty and we don't iron another time during the cruise. We unpack the rest and then, out to the balcony or up on Lido for the sailaway.

Sigh... Can't wait to be back on a ship.
