OK Im back...LOL

I booked this cruise as a gift from my husband to our DD who turned 16 on 7/25.She is a gymnast and is VERY busy all year long. Her gym gives the team 1 week off during the summer and that's why we went this week. My sister invited herself as she has celebrated the 16 bd with my other two girls so, this time would be no different. We decided to leave out of NOLA as it was a little cheaper then leaving from Galveston, TX. We drove down and spent the night in NOLA!!

Back ground: I am 41, My sister is 57 and my DD 16 of course.

I picked up the car the night before. We picked up my sis at 6:15 and were on our way...

I took us about 8 hrs to drive to NOLA. Not a bad drive. I rented a car one way, for free (due to hubby's points with Hertz).

We had to turn in the car at the airport and I had a friend who lives in NOLA to pick us up and take us to the hotel. She was also kind enough to show us a round ( more on that later) and also take us to the port the next day

Good review so far. Glad you had a great Happy 16th trip. Looking forward to more tomorrow. (But I can't read it until I am aboard the Magic on the 26th!) :D

Wonderful, have a nice time on your trip!

Looks like you guys had a great time, I'm anxiously waiting to read the rest of your review; no rush but could you please try to finish before we leave on Saturday:D

I will try...if not it will be here when you return...have a wonderful time...

We were on the same sailing and had a great time. It was my dad's first cruise and it was wonderful. The weather was perfect and we couldn't believe how smooth the water was the whole trip.

Yes the weather was wonderful...had a wonderful time in it too...even though lido deck got REALLY hot at times!!

Day 1 continued:

We walked around a little more in the French Quarter. Then my friend/tour guide took us around the not so popular places that look like the hurricane just hit the day before. Sad really...

But they have build some new homes that are really neat...

We then went home and to bed.

Day 2 NOLA / CCL Triumph

After breakfast, we walked down the street and then decided to take the street car to Carnal St/Bourbon St

We took pic in front of this painting on the wall right at Bourbon St...We only walked a few feet and I decided it was too much for my 16 year old princess to see...so we turned around and caught the trolley back to the hotel to meet our ride to the Port...

So excited!!

Our first sight of the Whale Tail

We arrived at the port and the lines were madness...But we made it through with in about 20 min. Then as we found our section to check in, that is when the wait started...My sister did not have a passport but only her birth certificate and her registration of birth from the hospital. Thank God she brought both because they had to do a lot of talking, paperwork, and whatever to get her on the boat...she is getting her passport very soon. LOL. We then took a picture going on to the boat ( which I do not have a copy of yet) then we were on @ 1:30pm. We stopped by and put $$ on S&S card, then up to our room...it was not finished yet but our Wonderful Cabin Stuart allowed us to leave our thing...

After the drill, it was off to orientation for Club O2...

I had pre-signed Chel up for this and I am happy I did...she had a blast. They had something every night and it was over each night at 1am, so that was her curfew time...we only had a problem once...more on that later.

We went to dinner...now let me say, I tried to take pic each night. But, that did not happen...so, I will post the food pic I took...

I forgot to say that the deck party was fun fun fun... we did all the line dances, and I even danced by myself...I told my daughter that I was on Vacation and I would DANCE if I wanted too. I usually cause embarrassing to my DD's when I do that but as previous told, I was on VACATION!!!

We did not leave on time (4pm) due to problems with the ship. Actually we did not leave until like 10 or so...

We went to dinner

Ship not moving

we went to Karaoke/

Ship still not moving

went to drop off Chel at Club 02

Ship still not moving

went back to lido and watched Green Larton

Ship Still not MOVING

Watched Mar's needs Moms

Yeah MOVING!!!

Then on to the welcome aboard show

then back to lido deck to finish watching "I am number 4"

and finally off to the room...

Chelsi made her curfew and we all went to bed!!

TEX was the cruise director and he was really good...Enjoyed the show and Chelsi enjoyed Club 02 welcome aboard party!!

sad part, we did not get to take the all so wonderful down the river sail...but we were on our way and happy happy happy!!!
