Pokeraddict Posted October 3, 2011 #26 Share Posted October 3, 2011 I doubt that this is the first time you have over paid for something especially on a crusie ship, so i don't think your post warrants a "beware" you need to get over it.

teddie Posted October 3, 2011 #29 Share Posted October 3, 2011 To the OP: I have bought some things on vacation that I thought were really special, only to find that they could be found close to home and maybe for less money. Oh well; it meant a lot when I first got it, and still does. The best bargains are not to be found on board, for the most part. I always get my favorite perfume on board at the duty-free prices. Any thing else I pick up is in vacation mode: sometimes frivolous, sometimes necessary. DH (who is sober) visited Busch Gardens without wearing socks. When the blisters came on he was forced to buy socks with the Budweiser logo, something he would not normally wear. Once, I came home from Disney World with a pink sweater with a Minnie Mouse logo on it. What the heck was I thinking, I still don't know :) After your experience, you'll know to be more careful. Don't let it spoil your cruise, though! Teddie
IWORK2CRUISE Posted October 3, 2011 #30 Share Posted October 3, 2011 I thoroughly enjoyed our cruise this August on the EOS. When we were on our cruise i bought several glass bead bracelets-pandora knock-offs thinking the 20.00 I paid was a bargain. I now see on Overstock.com the same bracelet for 15.69. The same beads are present on the bracelet also. So while I do enjoy this bracelet as well as my other family memebers enjoy theirs, I am going to be very cautious now of what I buy on a ship..... Barbara You thought the $20 was fair when you made the purchase and have nice bracelets to remember your cruise. AND, you didn't have to pay any tax or shipping charges so you are either even or ahead. I have passed on items before that I thought might be more affordable elsewhere but they didn't have the same meaning as the cruise items.
judie43 Posted October 3, 2011 #31 Share Posted October 3, 2011 What a sarcastic, insensitive and uncalled for response. Why bother responding at all? These boards could use a bit less arrogance and attitude. I totally agree!
Desertbelle Posted October 3, 2011 #32 Share Posted October 3, 2011 Actually, if there are any of those knock-offs on the Freedom next month, I am going to buy one or many more for gifts. I have always wanted one and it will be a nice souvenir for $20. Thanks for letting me know to look for them.

marci22 Posted October 3, 2011 #34 Share Posted October 3, 2011 I just noticed that this thread has nearly 2000 views. Putting 'beware' in the title is like forum crack.
