Silhouette vs Equinox

We're considering both of these for a TA sailing in April. Both look like lovely ships, but we enjoy Asian food, and I see that there is not a Silk Garden on the Silhouette. Any other differences between the two? Routes and ports are similar and one sails from NJ and the other FLL.

Don't know that this will help because we haven't been on The Silhouette.

You can see that we also tried Celebrity for the first time on The Equinox. We were so please that we booked with X again while onboard. The Equinox is a phenomenal vessel with an equally outstanding staff. I suspect you'll be impressed with X on either ship! :)

Well the Silhouette has the Lawn Club Spec. Rest. and also the Porch. It has Qsine instead of Silk Harvest. There aren't a lot of other differences except that Silhouette is 2 or 3 years newer. But if you enjoy Asian the Silk Harvest on Equinox may truly be the deciding factor for you!! (we are booked on the Silhouette TA, as we really loved the ship, we were on her in Sept!!)

Hi, Gracie 115 said it all :)

I sailed 2-3 weeks ago the TA @ Eclipse and one day they had an open tour thru the Specialties restaurants. @ Qsine the Chef explained very extensively the menu and dishes and you have a lot of Asian food options too : Indian Taj Mahal with 6 very typical Indian dishes, Sushi "Lollipops", Spring Rolls served in springs, Kobe Beef (Japanese) and an assorted selection of 6-7 Chinese dishes (forgot the name), which were exclusively served to the Emperor's Family in ancient times (so the Chef, I don't know ...)

If you like Asian food the Silk Harvest is not the only option, and Qsine is stylish, fancy, trendy and surprising food worth to try :)

cheers ~

We have sailed on both the Equinox and the Silhouette. Both beautiful ships, very nicely laid out with lots of spots for relaxing.

One of the big differences for us was no Hot Glass show on the Silhouette, we soo enjoyed this on the Equinox and went at least daily. Such talented artists! Also on the Silhouette there are the alcoves up on the lawn- they block the view of the sea from this location and we just did not enjoy the lawn area like we did on the Equinox, for us this was a disspointment. Much of the cruise the lawn was roped off on the Silhouette so this was a factor too

We don't really eat much asian, but the replacement for Silk Harvest, Quisine was a really fun dining experience- although the $80 upsell per couple is a bit much :(.

We did not notice much difference between the 2 ships besides decorations/colors, but we did think the Equinox was a prettier ship. One place we did enjoy alot was the Hideway and the coffee on the Silhouette was a huge improvement- hope they are using the same brand fleetwide!

You will enjoy a cruise on either ship, as did we.

Everyone has done a good job explaining many of the differences. Another one is that on the Silhouette the Michael's bar has been changed from a Piano bar to a sports/beer bar and the aft Oceanview bar has been removed to allow for more outside seating. (at least in comparison to the Solstice and Eclipse).

Enjoy your cruise. IMO the Solstice Class ship are a great design.
