how to check available ship cabins on a website without calling o

Welcome to Cruise Critic!

A simple answer to your question. No, you can't.

Depending on which cruise line you are talking about, you can go to the cruise line's website and do a dummy booking, up to the pick of selecting a particular cabin. But, there is no way to see every available cabin on a ship, or of all ships.

For a similar- but defintely not the same, and not comprehensive, option, go to a on line travel agent, and do a dummy booking there. You will see a selection of available cabins, but not all.

There are some web sites that do show you cabin availability for many of the cruise lines. However they are TA web sites and we are not allowed to post the url for them. Try to google cabin capacity or other words like that as you may stumble upon them.

You are not supposed to mention specific agencies on this site, so don't be surprised if they delete that post....

That said, I do the same thing. But be advised that they do not list all of the cabins available, as the cruiseline only lists some for proprietary and competitive reasons. Once those are booked, they will show others until all of a category are sold, and then they will show category as 'guarantee' until the whole ship is sold out....

Booked on Celebrity Century for 3/23/12 and ship does 7 days around the islands before doing a Pacific crossing to get to Ensenada. What are the rules regarding the casino being open or closed when it cruises from one island to another? If it's closed during the Hawaii cruising week, will it be open on the Pacific crossing nights?

Your post got tacked onto a thread about checking cabin availability - less likely to find answers here. Try posting it on the Celebrity boards or on the "West Coast Departures" section. I do know that there is no casino on the NCL ships that just cruise around the islands and believe that the casino on your cruise will be closed while still in Hawaii, but can't say for sure. Hopefully someone else can answer your question!
