Hi dmwnc1959-

I just got off the Nov 28 Voyage, can you do me a favor? Can you find out the the name of the Activity Director, I know it is Alejandro, but didn't have his last name, can you post it and let me know. I am sure it may have been in the information or at the Customer Service Desk.

Thank you

I'll check and post tomorrow if that's OK?

More about today:

Sail Away was a lot of fun, and such great people! It was a real pleasure to actually, finally meet real Cruise Critic people in the flesh. Such a wonderful bunch!

They have very slowly started with decorating for the holidays, tonight putting out gold foil wrapped pots of white and red poinsettias in the elevator lobbies and stair wells, as well as the Grand Staircase. Looks very nice.

Since I had first dinner seating last cruise, I opted to eat tonight in the Lido Cafe, then enjoyed the A Capella group Metropark in the Cova Cafe. I would not have thought I would enjoy this type of music, by these guys are quite good.

I also caught the Opening Night Show in the Celebrity Theater. It's basically a montage of the acts and performances that follow in the next five days with a headliner that's a juggler named Mike Price. I almost walked out as the juggler came on but didn't, and am SO glad. Mike is very funny, quite talented, and a real hoot of a show. And the unicycle stunt was amazing. Don't miss him!

Met up with some new friends in the Rendezvous Lounge. Really enjoyed their company. A truly great group of guys.

Set myself up with a new internet package and then after this plan on searching the ship for some live music.

Tomorrow is a full day at sea and several of the Cruise Critic group are getting together for the morning trivia.

And who knows, I may actually sleep in past 6am! That would be a treat!

More to come....

I just got back home after sailing on the Millennium the same trip as you, and reading your posts are like reliving the whole trip! Great job.

This was my first cruise on Celebrity, and I loved it. Much more my style than Carnival, which is what my last (and only other) cruise was. My only complaint was the weather. The rolling seas the first sea day and the choppy seas yesterday were really tough on my mother. My parents came along on this cruise after I told them how much I liked the last one, but the rough seas were just too much for my mom. I don't think she'll take another cruise after that. :( Other than that, it was great. Please keep posting "live" for the rest of your trip. I'll live vicariously through you since I couldn't do B2B. :)

You took Bridge tour, lucky guy!! I wanted to but couldn't... maybe on Solstice next week I'm leaving on Dec 11 for Solstice 7 days :)

You did FAB job on this I enjoyed reading it...

Did you know you were first person from Cruise Critic that I've met in person :) and I thank you for doing the ABC spelling in sign language while communicate with me. I applause your effort :)

Hi Kevin! Looking forward to your pictures. Travelling solo has its advantages and I know you were busy. Hope you had a great time. :)

Hi Kevin! I learned to finger-spell a very long time ago, also learned a few words here and there. I wish I could have communicated better.

I do hope you get to do a bridge tour. It was very interesting and I had a couple of questions I wanted to ask the First Officer but he kept getting rather silly questions common sense would have answered.

Thanks for the kin words about my thread. I do hope you post your pictures soon

TODAY's journey:

Good morning from Celebrity Millennium!

The route for this 5-night cruise has us circling Cuba clockwise hitting Jamaica after a full day at sea, followed by Grand Cayman Island, a last full day at sea as we loop around the west side of Cuba, then back Miami.

6:30am

This is the latest I have slept in since my vacation started on Nov. 27th. Rushed up to catch the sunrise after a quick shower. Very windy topside with white caps as far as the eye can see.

The map on TV has us in the Old Bahama Channel off of a string of islands (Cayo Cruz, Cayo Romano) and very close to the coast line. Topside you cannot see land because of low clouds.

It's off to breakfast. More later...

The seas were a bit rough that first full day. Sorry your mother had a bad go of it. Maybe a short cruise to Key West and Nassau in the future to stay out of open seas? Tell her not to give up yet! ;)

According to Guest Services the only Alejandro they found on the crew roster in the Activities Department ran the trivia games. His full name is Alejandro Sanchez Oesouera. I hope it's the right one you were looking for?

A couple of quick pictures before the next update after the Captains Announcement.

Ok. I lied. Another quick post, want to make sure I'm using my Internet package minutes. ;) Then off to morning trivia.

After a 'second breakfast' of the dreaded almond croissants (somebody stop me!) I spent some time up in the observation lounge of the Cosmos on Deck 11. It was empty except for two passengers on the far starboard side.

It's amazing how mesmerizing the sea can be, how the calming effect just washes over you and every care in the world just disappears. You can actually feel your heartbeat slow down and your blood pressure drop as you stare off at the horizon. The classical music playing on the lounge speakers and the lack of passenger chatter just adds to the sense of complete and total relaxation. I didn't ever want to leave.

Several football games on tap today; Bengals at Steelers and Packers at Giants Stadium. Both at the Casino bar. There is limited seating so if there's a game playing you're interested in get there early.

A couple of big, not to miss events today: the Cooking Demonstration at 11am in the Grand Foyer Deck 4 and the Captains Club Celebration (with Senior Officers) on Deck 11 in Cosmos from 2:30p-4p. Live music and Chef's Specialties as the tasty treats. Didn't do the latter on my last segment so I want to make sure I attend.

Also ran into three more wonderful and friendly Cruise Critic members this morning that had missed our aft sail away gathering. They recognized me from my picture. It simply amazes me how many people on this particular cruise followed my thread before getting on board and have commented how helpful it has been!

Some pictures of the Internet Cafe, Casino and Casino Bar, and observation lounge of Cosmos:

A quick pre-noon update:

Checked with the kids club to see how many of the little darlings we have aboard, there are 74.

After so much talk about getting a Trivia Tream together the Galley Tour (which I had never done and this was my last chance) was scheduled at the exact same time. A few of us bailed :( on the 11am Trivia Challenge and opted for the Galley Tour. I really felt bad.

The Galley Tour however was very interesting. It began in the MDR, and after a short introduction of the head galley staff we were escorted into smaller groups in the working galley, seeing all aspects of it, and ending in the gorgeous Olympic Restaurant.

Stumbled upon a Private Function wedding reception being held in the Cinema. The family and friends were from India and the women were absolutely stunning in their traditional Sari and jewels.

Helloo from FL..

We set sail on monday and was just showing my friend your live blog. It is AWESOME!! Love that they are preparing for Christmas!

Was wondering about the galley tour. Do you have to sign up for it in advance or is is just on the schedule for one of the days?

Glad you are enjoying the thread! The Galley Tour hosted about 100 people divided into smaller groups of about 15 people each. Any one can do it, just show up at the place designated in the Celebrity Today. It's probably only done on this first sea day.

1pm

For lunch I ate in the Lido Cafe's Caribbean Corner (port side aft) and the food was great! Blackened fish with pineapple, red beans and rice, real jerk chicken, yucca and sweet plantain, and steamed vegetables. Highly recommended! I can easily see me eating here several more times! :)

Cruise Critic member Kathisu was gracious enough to invite me up to take a look at their accommodations onboard Celebrity Millennium, the Penthouse Suite, one of two, and the largest suites on the ship.

Needless to say my pictures won't do it justice. The suite was simply amazing; from the expansive deck space to the luxurious living and dining room, the opulent master bath with fully tiled, stand up shower with glass walls and a view of the ocean, and the beautiful master bedroom.

Thank you Kathy for that wonderful opportunity!
