halos Posted November 29, 2011 #126 Share Posted November 29, 2011 We vaulted from being brand new Silvers to Platinum!:D 4 seven days 1 twelve days 1 two day All Suites AHHHHH...so type of cabins will definitely have an impact on the points/level then. rosey1946 Posted November 29, 2011 #128 Share Posted November 29, 2011 I don't know what everyone is talking about but I just checked my status, still Platinum. I do have coming up my 17th NCL cruise. All 7 nights or more, no Suites. Mostly inside rooms. So, maybe it's days sailed or extra points for suites and days sailed. What I don't understand, is NCL hasn't notified anyone? Very strange.
CruisinMaterial Posted November 29, 2011 #129 Share Posted November 29, 2011 love this thread...but is anyone elses head spinning trying to figure it all out :D:eek: Would really love it if NCL would get on here or just do a press release to stop all this because it is blowing my mind. Upon re-checking today I've gone from GOLD to Platinum but I was only two cruises away anyway and most of mine have been 7 days or longer! :D

Katesowner Posted November 29, 2011 #133 Share Posted November 29, 2011 Here's my best guess based on the limited amount of data available. Again, just for fun :) 1 pt for less than 7 days 2 pt for 7 3 pt for more than 7 days 2 pt for suite Range: 1-5 = bronze 6-10 = silver 10-20 = gold Over 20 = platinum + perhaps new category This works for all of the detailed data that people posted here, to the best of my abilities. Great job on the points! Platinum must start a bit higher than 20, tho. I've got 21 points by the scale above and still am gold. Wish they'd post the new rules! jetskier Posted November 29, 2011 #135 Share Posted November 29, 2011 We went from Silver to Gold also. My breakdown is as follows: 7-day OV 7-day BL 7-day BL 5-day IS 15-day BL 7-day IS Works out to 48 days. Or 12 points with the above posters point scale. Of course the next question will be will the benefits change within the categories. Dave
njhorseman Posted November 29, 2011 #136 Share Posted November 29, 2011 NCL has cleaned up its database and assigned everyone some number of points or credits based on a formula that has yet to be revealed, but likely now includes some additional credit for longer (definition of longer to come) cruises and cruises in suites, and for reasons known only to them has loaded that new database into their system prior to actually installing the new Latitudes level definitions. This results in the new point or credit totals being applied to the old definitions, leading to the guessing game we've been playing. The better approach would have been to not load the new individual point totals into the live system until the system had been updated with the corresponding new Latitudes level definitions and the company had released the appropriate explanatory materials to Latitudes members, travel agents and the press. It would have eliminated all the idle speculation about the revisions. No one should be doing a "happy, happy, joy, joy" dance right now based on the new levels they see in their accounts, because we have no idea what benefits those levels will carry, nor even if those are the correct names of the new levels. There's a chance that some new intermediate levels will be created between existing levels, and an apparent promotion from Gold to Platinum might really be a promotion from Gold to a new intermediate Gold Plus level. All that won't come to light until the new program is officially implemented and announced.
BikerAl Posted November 29, 2011 #137 Share Posted November 29, 2011 If they are "flooding" the program with Platinum's, some with as few as 6 cruises, they better well come up with at least a couple new levels for people that are "true" Platinum's and some that are essentially "double" Platinum with a couple of hundred days at sea aboard NCL ships. What is a "true" platinum? From what I am reading, NCL is rewarding folks who book suites and sail longer sailings, thus generating more dollars for NCL. I would guess they are rewarding those that spend the most, which are true platinum's in many reward programs. I would bet that NCL will add some levels, but then again, under the old system, platinum was a dead end, so perhaps not. Folks like Time2cruise1 have been stuck there a very long time. Rahi Posted November 29, 2011 #138 Share Posted November 29, 2011 Went from Bronze to Silver (would have become silver after next weeks cruise). All 4 cruises were 7 days in suites; total 28 days in Suites. Next weeks cruise also 7 days in a suite. Also, have a 14 Day Panama Canal cruise set up for April in a suite. Not sure how points work out. unfortunately, ours should be 4 points for each of the four 7 day cruises in a suite that we have taken already or 4 x 4 = 16, but only silver Originally Posted by SuiteCruiser Here's my best guess based on the limited amount of data available. InTheCruisingYearsOfLife Posted November 29, 2011 #139 Share Posted November 29, 2011 love this thread...but is anyone elses head spinning trying to figure it all out :D:eek: My head is indeed spinning, but I think it's because I have the flu. I think your best bet is that it's yet another NCL web-site screw-up. They excel in that. At the very least, if they've changed the [P]Latitudes program, their web gurus should have rolled out the explanations BEFORE or AT THE SAME TIME as changing everybody's levels. I have an email in to my PCC, asking if I get the Bronze-to-Silver OBC credited to my upcoming cruise. He was flat-footed regarding the changes, and told me he'd have to get back to me. Evidently these sorts of things require multi-days to figure out though. I'm sure all the web designers are digging through their HTML decks, trying to find the hanging chad responsible for our [P]latitudes promotions. Sam The Cat Posted November 29, 2011 #142 Share Posted November 29, 2011 One thing that I noticed is that I booked a cruise last month where the GF was gold and we got a $150 OBC I checked today I was bumped up to gold and we received "only" received $100 OBC more. Not that I am complaining but maybe you do not get that much OBC

All that won't come to light until the new program is officially implemented and announced. Yes, it would have made more sense to list level definitions prior to changing everyone's level. As for the Debbie-Downer you are pulling (;)) I think most (if not all of us) will be happy no matter what. I don't believe for one second they will take anything away that anyone has already earned with the pervious tier credits. They are obviously going to add more tiers and no matter how you look at it, this is a good thing. One thing that I noticed is that I booked a cruise last month where the GF was gold and we got a $150 OBC I checked today I was bumped up to gold and we received "only" received $100 OBC more. Sam The Cat Posted November 29, 2011 #145 Share Posted November 29, 2011 I assumed it was because the GF went to Gold. We got on OBC due to a sale that was going on then additional $150 OBC then I checked this morning when I read here about people betting up grade on their status where I saw that I went to gold with additional $100 OBC Will take anything I can get made a printout to take with us in 13 months

SuiteRose Posted November 29, 2011 #147 Share Posted November 29, 2011 We were gold, but now silver... we had a $150 OBC from a sale. We didn't get any additional OBC with this change like some others did. I hope we don't miss out because I was looling forward to the OBC for my next cruise after turning into silver.
