BarleyJack Posted December 3, 2011 Author #10 Share Posted December 3, 2011 On the Carnival Glory, there is a member of the entertainment staff (working with the cruise director James) named J.D. Every time he led an activity he would shout out "What's my name?" everyone: JD! "And that stands for Jelly Donuts!"....or "Jaw Dropper", or something or other, but most often it was Jelly Donuts, Jelly Donuts, Jelly Donuts. He couldn't speak a sentence without saying Jelly Donuts, sounding like a (bad) used car salesman-at first it was funny, the 300th time not so much. I wasn't being cryptic, I was wondering if anyone else on board with this particular entertainment staff found it odd, as we did; sorry to have confused anyone or caused drama regarding what breakfast pastries Carnival offers.

matj2000 Posted December 4, 2011 #16 Share Posted December 4, 2011 After surveying the passengers on Carnival, I think that if they broke out a box of jelly donuts on the ship it would start a "black friday" riot..

CruisinTormos Posted December 4, 2011 #23 Share Posted December 4, 2011 I just got off the Glory this morning. We enjoyed JD for the most part but yeah, Jelly Donuts was interesting! He was a lot of fun at the Guess the Song challenges. He had a ton more spunk and personality than some of the other entertainment staff on the boat! Didn't realize people were so "into them". That would be a better area to start cutting back on.. cut back on the entertainment staff, or cut back on knowing the names of the people who are helping you enjoy your vacation? If the latter, well, ouch, and I hope that made ya feel better! Well, that does it!!
