Looking for tips for those "Suite" benefits!

If you do elect to eat at the Windjammer for breakfast or lunch, you can sit in the Portofino (if there is one). It's easier to sit by a window and a lot less crowded and therefore more peaceful. Some ships have an omelette station there, and pastries so you don't necessarily have to get back in line.

Another couple of "sweet" privileges are:

Sail Away from a selected port on the Helipad with complimentary champagne.

Bridge Tour

Galley Tour

Backstage Tour

What is Sail Away. We've been in a Grand Suite 5 years ago and did the Bridge Tour on the AOS. Looking forward to another on in May on FOS.

Once you stay in a suite it's really hard to go back. The big bathroom alone is the best.

Sail Away is a gathering, like a party when the ship pulls away from the dock. We were on the Allure in May, had a GS and were invited to the Helipad with Officers and Shrek to view pulling out from Cozumel to the open sea. It lasted about an hour. Very pleasant, about 30 guests showed. Champagne and Mimosa's was flowing. Shrek was doing photo ops and the officers were very friendly and making their rounds to all the guests. We started chatting with Hotel Director to find out we had a very close mutual friend.

We loved having eggs benedict from room service on our balcony - you have to order it by phone but it was always quick..

That sounds good. Jacquelyne and I will have to try it out on Voyager on our 10 March cruise. ;)

These are all very good replies thank you all for the info.

I started my first cruise on an outside room, and I was informed by my parents that a balcony was worth the money and it certainly was, I will never go back to inside/outside. Now I am definitely looking forward to a little spoiling in the suite department, although I'm not so sure I could make it regular because of the budget!

If you qualify for Concierge Lounge access, definately make friends with your Concierge. He/she will be of great assistance to you and will pamper you to distraction! On our last cruise, our Cruise Critic gang planned a cabin crawl with our OS as the last stop. I asked the concierge and he provided a lovely assortment of finger foods and snacks, along with soft drinks...(shhhh) free. ! Needless to say we "remembered" him with an envelope on the last night...but then we always do. To be honest, I don't think I've ever met a group of folks more eager to pamper, please and serve than RCI's concierges.

The disembarkation was great - we were off the ship fast.

One thing I noticed was when we got towels at the Towel Desk they did not check our towels in or out. You show that gold card and they just give you the towels and don't keep track.

For those on Freedom - what did you think of the concierge? I've heard some not so great reports.

We just hand wrote it in on the menu provided in your room that you hang on the outside of your door. Eggs Benedict every morning at the time requested! No phone call needed.

Thank you for the information. We'll be on the Freedom. How do you know this Sail Away gathering is happening?

It definitely sounds fun and my DH & I LOVE champagne:p.

I don't know if this would work for Royal Caribbean, but I suspect it would. On Princess I was in a balcony room and would write in french toast or pancakes on the card and sure enough I'd get it the next morning.

One day the invitation appeared in our room...we didn't request it, didn't even know it existed. You can ask the concierge to make sure you get an invite if it is offered.

I don't know that it would work in a balcony. We were in a CL on the Oasis. Eggs Benedict for me and French Toast for DH written and served the next morning on schedule HOT!

What are some of the perks for jr. suite ( silver ) if any?

Thanks Pat

Priority embarcation, coffee maker and kettle in the stateroom and double 'sailing' credits for Crown and Anchor members. And we have had little bottles of shampoo and lotions in the bathroom (don't know if this is on all ships.) Check the RCI website - most of the suite perks are reserved for full suite guests.

On both the Freedom last fall and Mariner in Dec., breakfast eggs were cooked to order inside Chops or Portofino, I forget which on which ship. I hope this suite perk shows up on all Freedom and Voyager class ships. Eating in the specialty restaurant for breafast and lunch is one of our favorite suite perks. On Serenade last Feb. for debarkation, we had breakfast in Chops and then our concierge, Francoise, actually escorted suite pax off the ship into the luggage area. No lines, no waits, fantastic. Wish all concierges would do this. BTW, our last 6 cruises have been in GS's, and I have never been invited to a "sail away" with champagne and mimosas. What ship was that on?

Since the specialty restaurants are not on the same deck as WJ on Oasis class, this is not a perk for that class. Some Radiance class ships, not all, will open a speciatly restaurant for breakfast cooked to order in that kitchen I have read, tho' not on our Serenade cruise last Feb. Otherwise, this perk is offered only on Voyager and Freedom class ships.

On Navigator we wrote what we wanted on our hang tag (I called room service to ask how to do it).

And on the few occasions that we've had a full suite, our cabin steward has gotten the pool towels for us. Perhaps that varies by ship.

Is it a Definite that they are now serving Breakfast in Portifinos on the Voyager, for Suite Guests?

On Princess this is a real plus plus to be served Breakfast in Sabitinis for Suite Guests?

Its sooo good that the Breakfast at Sabitini is superb.Their Menu is excellent but its beyond as you can ask for anything that is not on the Menu for a next day serving.

We sailed on a 23 night Diamond Princess voyage and we indulged in Lamb Loin Chops with the trimmings on more than one occasion in Sabitinis for breakfast as full suite guests.

The email I received from the concierge on Adventure had this excerpt about Portofino at breakfast:

Reserved breakfast area La Notte, Dining Room Deck 3 (available when Dining Room is open), Portofino Restaurant everyday 7:00 am to 10:00 am with limited buffet selection.

We will see what the limited buffet selection entails when we cruise.

I don't remember seeing on the Allure (May 2011) or the Oasis (May 2010) breakfast served in Chops or Portofino's as suite guest. Hmmm' date=' going on the Allure in Feb., wonder if that will be a suite perk?[/quote']

On Oasis class there is a full breakfast and lunch off a menu served in the Concierge Lounge every day and we quite enjoyed it.

The Sabatini breakfast is out of this world. The closest thing I've seen on RCI was the suite breakfast in Chops on Jewel, where they had a separate menu. On Navigator, the offerings were more "ordinary."
