Rare Kinkacruiser Posted December 5, 2016 #729 Share Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) I'd like to know if there is a small smoking section up in Skywalkers as was the case a few years ago. It used to be on the left (past the bar). I use a PV. Post 709 states it's still allowed. Can anyone confirm? It used to be on the left (past the bar). I use a PV. Post 709 states it's still allowed. Can anyone confirm? We sailed on the Emerald last summer in the Med and yes there was an indoor space in Skywalkers where smoking was allowed. It was a very small area at the far end away from the dance floor of approx 4 tables. I am not sure if this will be the same when sailing in Australian waters due to the different rules on smoking there. Every ship we have sailed on in Australian waters has been no smoking at all inside any where on the ships. PV use in staterooms is allowed but not on balconies. I also use a PV and found no issues using it on board for the 4 weeks we sailed on her but as stated this was in the Mediterranean.

Seems like the Skywalkers corner is out of bounds to us this upcoming cruise....shame, as DH enjoys a vape with his cocktails. Sounds like the policy changes from ship to ship and cruising region. It was fine on the Pacific Princess last year and on the Emerald in 2014 on our Europe cruises. The days when PVers had some leeway are well and truly gone. Seagarr1956 Posted January 2, 2017 #732 Share Posted January 2, 2017 I'll have to admit I'm not aware of the smoking policy on princess. I smoke Cigars and always make certain I book a ship with a Cigar Lounge. I noticed on my last 2 cruises on the Epic that there policy's had driven the cigarette smokers into the Cigar Lounge which had made it considerably less relaxing. kennicott Posted January 2, 2017 #733 Share Posted January 2, 2017 Does anyone know the smoking areas in the Pacific Princess? Just got off a 29 day voyage on the Pacific Princess. The most common area for smokers is next to the pool bar, on deck 9, but on the starboard side. Although considered "open deck" it is well covered on three sides, has a lot of tables chairs and ash trays and is out of the wind and rain. As far as smoking in the Pacific Lounge goes, I don't believe it is allowed there. Or at least we never saw an area in that lounge where it was and we spent a lot of time in there. Down on deck five, starboard, aft on the promenade, there is a standup area for smokers where ash trays are mounted on the horizontal lateral bulkhead. In the casino, at a number of the slots, smoking is allowed. However, I never noticed anyone smoking there although I just walk through the area going fore and aft, often, but my wife is there a lot playing the slots and she says she never noticed anybody smoking. No exclusive cigar lounge on that vessel.

skynight Posted January 10, 2017 #735 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Inside Casino, some days the casino is smoke free. Snooker's Cigar Bar, only place for Cigars and pipes A section of Club One5, late evening Outside Small area next to the Sea Breeze Bar, Deck 16 Area outside of Club One5, port side An area on the Horizon Terrace, port side where there are ash trays on the tables A small area all the way aft on the Promenade Deck where the cigarette disposal unit is attached to the bulkhead. Don't remember if this area is on the port or starboard side.

shredie Posted January 10, 2017 #737 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Area outside of Club One5, port side I wasn't smoking, but I was on the starboard side seating area there, and the people in the smoking area were laughing and having a great time, and there were quite a few of them. Looks like a good spot for you.

Gwendy Posted January 10, 2017 #739 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Check the patter on embarkation day, they generally list the areas. They seem to be taking some areas away. As a new non smoker, 12 months on, I miss the camaraderie smokers have.
damiross Posted January 11, 2017 #740 Share Posted January 11, 2017 Inside... Snooker's Cigar Bar, only place for Cigars and pipes You can smoke cigarettes in Snooker's, not just cigars and pipes.
Bill B Posted January 17, 2017 #741 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Other than Churchill's Cigar Bar, there are basically only two places to smoke on the Diamond now: - Promenade, starboard aft - Tradewinds Bar, port fore. I chose my stateroom - aft on Aloha - to have easy access to a smoking area. They changed (deleted) the areas and I couldn't be farther away. My last Princess cruise. Hello Bill, I am a reformed smoker so I may not be accurate but it seems to me that there is another area up on Lido that allows one to smoke. There certainly was an area up there on CB this past October. Check it out. I remember how satisfying a morning smoke with a cup coffee was many years ago. Rare donswife Posted January 17, 2017 #743 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Aloha aft to Promenade aft really isn't far...5 flights down or a quick elevator ride.
Bill B Posted January 19, 2017 #744 Share Posted January 19, 2017 tailspintom, There is no place to smoke on Lido anymore. I booked my room to be able to easily access the (former) smoking area, port side at the Outrigger Bar aft on Lido. I hate the Tradewinds Bar smoking area - you are constantly assaulted by the noise from MUTS. donswife, I detest cruise ship elevators - it can take 15+ minutes just to go the five decks between Aloha and Promenade during busy times (when the International Dining Room is opening). jefa Posted January 21, 2017 #745 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Wrong ship for you then Bill B!!! I was on CB in November, and the Lido smoking area was still open, plus if you tried an e-cig you can smoke them in your cabin. Walking to a smoking area instead of using the lifts is easy, and if you take TD then it is only up one set of stairs and out the door to a smoking area (albeit not a great one!) Also MUTS was not by the Tradewinds Bar on CB, so no noise. In fact I was sorry not to be able to watch MUTS when having a smoke and a cocktail. luvslabdogs Posted January 25, 2017 #747 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Where can you smoke on the Royal now? Cruising in March 2017. Have read threads where smoking areas are changed from what people post earlier. Is there any outdoor bar area where you can smoke? Thank you! jc7292 Posted January 30, 2017 #748 Share Posted January 30, 2017 There is a very large area on deck 17 aft. It has a covered area with tables and lots of lounge chairs for sunning. Coffee, tea, juice and water available in the morning. Servers for bar drinks. Also a bar directly below on deck 16 with stairs that take you right to the bar. Another small area on deck 7 aft. I don't remember what side of ship that is on. Churchill's deck 6 and a small area in the casino on smoking days. A year or so ago on the Emerald rules for ecigs were that they were ok to use in smoking areas and within your cabin but not on the balcony.
