willow148 Posted June 15, 2012 #226 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I see in the original list these; NON-ALCOHOLIC WINES $ 5.00 – Fre by Sutter Home, SPARKLING, Brut, California, USA $ 5.00 – Fre by Sutter Home, CHARDONNAY, California, USA $ 5.00 – Fre by Sutter Home, PREMIUM RED, California, USA $ 5.00 – Fre by Sutter Home, WHITE ZINFANDEL, California, USA I have not seen anyone address their inclusion in the non alcholic packages, but if I had to make a guess I would guess yes. I wonder if this might be a case where a call to the cruise captain help desk might garner an acurate answer... Thanks Sara - I've contacted Celebrity, I'll see what they say. Non-alcoholic wine is not mentioned in the non-alco packages, so I suspect they'll restrict them to the packages that include wine.:(

DeliaPug Posted June 21, 2012 #229 Share Posted June 21, 2012 Great Post...we are on The Constellation (Connie) in November for the 12 night Immersive Wine Tour from Southampton. I need to get the calculator out and see the pros and cons! My wife and I did the Premium Alcohol Package when on Silhouette in November last year (Caribbean) – if think we were under ££ for my wife and saved money on the Package for me. So next time I will get the Premium and my wife will have the Classic. Regards ANDREW My husband and I are also going on this specific cruise. We purchased the premium alcohol package while it was on sale this past few weeks. I feel confident that we will make it worthwhile ;) I hope you have a great time! I am looking forward to see what they offer for the immersive aspect of the cruise! Cheers! Janie

pmk515 Posted June 25, 2012 #233 Share Posted June 25, 2012 You can do either. If you wait to do it on the ship and don't sign up the first day they will prorate you the package cost based on how many days you have left on the cruise. I believe you have to still have more than 2 days left on the cruise to do that tho, somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

This is due to the cost per drink being more for non alcoholic wine than for the other beverages listed in the package. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause and thank you for your understanding." I'll just have to buy it by the glass, I suppose - good to know it's available though, I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere else until the thread on MDR wine lists! jerseygirl3 Posted June 30, 2012 #241 Share Posted June 30, 2012 I'm thinking of buying one of the alcoholic beverage packages. Can someone tell me how much the Foo Foo Drinks are, i.e. pina coladas, grasshoppers, mai tais, etc. Thanks:confused: As I recall from Silhouette this past March, they were just under $7 plus gratuity. BTW, I had purchased a Premium Alcohol Package for DH and I when it was on sale this month for our Equinox 10 day cruise next February. I since found out we will have a fairly nice OBC, so today I decided to cancel out mine and just keep DH (the OBC that we'll have on our account will more than cover what I would typically drink and is less than the package). Anyway, when I went to Celebrity's website, I clicked on my name only and hit cancel. Lo and behold, it canceled out both of our packages. So..... I called Celebrity. They said since the sale is over, they can't reinstitute DH's package at the sale price, so they are charging the full price, which is $62 more. But they are giving us a $75 OBC (rep said they are giving us more than we're due since the OBC is available only in $25 increments). I think that was a very good solution to the problem. Kudos to Celebrity! Oh, yeah, and I had the rep send me an email confirming all the above and I received it within minutes of hanging up the phone! TITISSA Posted July 15, 2012 #243 Share Posted July 15, 2012 Well cool, I'm glad having it in one place is helpful, but please can anyone say if I have described the policy correctly? The other thing that is pretty helpful and cool in deciding this stuff is the excel spreadsheet that calculates your projected usage and tells you how much you might spend based on how you fill out the form. It's here; https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtQ-heWqtag3dDB3dlRCdkk5MFJ6RFYycUM4T2Vocnc&hl=en#gid=0 To use it you need to download it and open SCREEN 1. ; -D I just found your thread because I just purchased my first beverage package. After seeing the prices I think I'm going to upgrade it to the Premium alcohol beverage instead of just the classic. Thank you so much.
newlaxfan Posted July 15, 2012 #244 Share Posted July 15, 2012 This thread is a wonderful resource!! Thanks!! One thing I'd like to get clarified though... I had assumed that a drink package would apply to the stateroom but it's sounding like it applies just to the person. Correct? The reason I ask is that my friend and I were going to share a package, but is' sounding like that won't be feasible. Would very much appreciate clarification on this. Thanks! If you purchase on board then a sticker is added to your seapass. Good Sailing Tom Also, when you order a drink, you give the server your seapass for registering the sale, even though the cost is zero. You can only order one drink at a time per seapass. That prevents cheating by one person buying the pass and ordering drinks for two (or more) people. If you want two drinks, you give the server two valid seapasses. Blue Lagoon Posted July 30, 2012 #250 Share Posted July 30, 2012 I wanted to add my thanks for posting this list of beverages. While some people prepare themselves for a cruise by researching countries, weather, excursions, etc., this past weekend I bought a couple of wines that were on the MDR wine list to try out. I like the short descriptions of the categories and having the prices gave me a heads-up as to which wines I would prefer. It also helps to have other people taste the wine and give their feedback - after all what are kids for??? Hi, the FIL just got back to me and (yay) he got the price drop on the fare for the 10 of us. Now he is trying to understand the Beverage package policies. Yeah, I know, who isn't ; -) So I have tried to gather up as much of the excellent advice I have found here and put it into a (hopefully) coherent format. I am also including menus I have gathered up around here. I would appreciate it if you experts could eyeball it and let me know if I have any glaring omissions, errors or misrepresentations! Hi Everyone, So there you have it, the 2012 Celebrity Wine List for the Main Dining Rooms. Now as I understand it, this is the FULL LIST for the MDRs FLEET WIDE … but is not necessarily so that ALL wines will be available in ALL Venues… or in some cases there will be only a limited amount of bottles of some selections. Specific Wine Lists for each of Celebrity’s Ships in the fleet will have the current availability… if one is seeking a specific wine, then you should consult one of the MDR’s Sommeliers. I would like to once again thank the wonderful crew on the Celebrity Solstice who got this info to me… Igor – the Maitre D’ of the Grand Epernay Dining Room Amir – the Head Sommelier
