macrompian1 Posted February 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2012 I'm booked to depart on May 3rd, I check the RCI web page every few days to see has the price gone down any. Is there a usual time before departure for prices to drop?

Is there a usual time before departure for prices to drop? Unfortunately no - it could drop or not - just keep watching - wishing you luck
Puffinater Posted February 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2012 I check our booked cruises every day. Sometimes more than once. You never know when one will show up or how long it will last.
blueblock Posted February 15, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2012 And sometimes, alas, prices only go up until the date of final payment!
SKdrummer Posted February 15, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2012 We are sailing on Explorer on May 24th. We got a $1060.00 price drop today. I called my TA and she made the adjustment. (1st time ever....It pays to keep checking!!)

ryano Posted February 15, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 15, 2012 I check our booked cruises every day. Sometimes more than once. You never know when one will show up or how long it will last. This ^. The only effective way to check is to check multiple times a day or at least belong to a certain website that will email you any time a price has went up or down. I have seen price drops there one minute and gone the next. There is no telling how many or if you missed any price drops if you are only checking every other day or so. marci22 Posted February 15, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 15, 2012 I would say check every day, but if you can't, at least check Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday, and during holidays.
marci22 Posted February 15, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 15, 2012 I did not think that site was working. It's working, but maybe another, similar site than what you are referring to. I get alerts sent to my email but it's $1 per alert created.
derrick22 Posted February 16, 2012 #11 Share Posted February 16, 2012 We sail April 29th and our cruise has gone up $1400 a person since booking. I don't bother looking for price drops anymore. There is no way that we would get that big of a price drop. As others have said no everyone gets a price drop.

packedandready Posted February 16, 2012 #14 Share Posted February 16, 2012 I check morning and night (no I'm not obsessed:p). Checked one night, no change. Checked the next morning, dropped $200pp, called and got the drop, checked that very same night and it had gone up $100 more than our original price. Just keep checking...you never know.
