elloco07 Posted February 25, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2012 Hello, I have a 7 yr old and a 2.5 yr old when we plan to cruise in Sept 2012. I would like to know which cruiseline leaving from the Florida or South east area is best for 2.5 yr old. I see that RC has for kids 3 and up but do they also have activities for under 3 yrs old? If they do have it, is it extra we have to pay? My wife and I would like to have some time alone and be able to leave the kids doing some activities and not be bored or have to worry about them constantly. Does anyone have experience crusing with kids younger than 3 and which cruise lines are best suited for kids under 3. More info, we plan on taking a 3 or 4 night cruise in Sept 2012 to bahamas or carribean. Thanks
6rugrats Posted February 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2012 You can find lots of info in this article, right here on CC: http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=2 If you want to put your 2.5 year old in one of the kid's clubs, you'll have to sail on Carnival, or NCL or choose an RCI ship with a nursery, which will cost $8.00 per hour. paul929207 Posted February 25, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2012 There is a section for family cruising where you may find answers
cb at sea Posted February 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2012 It won't matter one bit to the 2.5 year old! Do what YOU think is best, and what YOU want to do! A small child is just along for the ride! If you're happy, they're happy!
boulders Posted February 26, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2012 I would choose Carnival for this age group. They have a good kids program for this age group. They will also change diapers. On other lines (other than NCL), your 2.5 year old would have to go in the nursery, usually for an hourly fee.
Starry Eyes Posted February 26, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2012 NCL is planning to phase in changes to it's kids program. I believe it is being rolled out this past week on one ship (Gem). Too soon for any reports on the new program. Also too soon to know which ships will roll out the new program when. If NCL is on your list of possible lines, you may want to check back on the family forum or NCL forum to see how to new program is shaping up. SewMuch Posted February 26, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2012 If you want to cruise RC I'd put off the cruise til the child is over 3. Problem solved.
