I have seen about six different threads about the beer bags on board the Royal Caribbean ships. Each one seems to contradict the other ones. Does anyone have an updated status on the beer bag (think beer bucket, only baggier) on ask ships? Possibly on the Allure? Thank you.

And definitive you still will not get. Some ships have them and some don't. And even those that do, don't always offer them due to stock, holds in the promotion, etc.

I actually CALLED RCCL about this yesterday. The Rep I talked with had no clue what I was talking about. She kept saying "we offer a wine package, but I'm not seeing anything about a beer package". I said it wasn't something that could be pre-purchased, but alas she had no idea.

 

I also had the audacity to ask about the BOGO sticker. Again, no clue.

 

She just kept saying "get on the ship and ask around".

 

While I can understand not wanting to post the items of Quest on their website, I don't see why it is so difficult to know what each ship offers it's cruisers! :(

I just got off the Allure of the Seas (2/26/12 sailing) and can definitely confirm that they do have the beer bag deal. To receive your free bag, you simply purchase 8 beers at the normal price. We went with bud lights at 5.25/beer+15% service change. Bring the bag back and get 8 beers for the price of 7.

 

You can refill your bag at any bar venue on the ship as well as Labadee. Our cabin attendent kept the ice filled in the bag whenever we left it in our room.

 

I read in a different thread that you could still buy buckets of beer with getting 6 for the price of 5, which would be a better deal. However, at least on the Allure, they no longer sell buckets.

Yep! Allure definitely has beer bags!

Jewel does not have them (been on twice this year and no beer bags)

man i want one bad!! even if they dont refill it its nice to have to keep them cool and the bottle opener!! if i were still living in nola id stop by and try to persuade you in selling me one! :D

LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL!! I bought a beer purse and I dont even like beer:eek: I left 2 in the fridge when we debarked, but I LOVE the "beer purse".

On Allure, I ordered mine from the deck waiters. You have a choice of U.S domestic 16 oz Alum bottles or imports in 12 oz glass. 8 Coronna's $38 ish + fees. The 16 oz bottles were $45 ish.

 

They gave me a cup of limes for my Coronna's as well.

The definitive Beer Bag Response:

 

What part of "Hit & Miss" do you not understand??? :D :D

 

So for every question asking " Sailing on the ______ of the Seas next week. Can anyone who just sailed tell me if they had the Beer Bag?"

 

As far as your cruise is concerned, it makes NO difference if they had the bag or not!

 

So, here are specific directions:

 

1) Board Ship

2) Go to Pool Bar

3) Ask about Beer Bag, if answer is "No" skip to #5

4) If "Yes", fill bag enjoy, repeat

5) If "No", buy bucket, pay regular per beer price, enjoy, repeat!

 

My work here is done!!! :) :)

Humble suggestion: people who come back from cruises (or have sailed recently) who know whether their ship had the beer bag special should post whether their ship had it... otherwise, hah, we just end up with "I'm going on _____ ship, do they have it???" 500 times as someone above me noted lol. Perhaps we can even start a list!

 

I was on Oasis in November and they had it.

 

So far we've established:

 

HAS THEM

-Oasis

-Allure

 

DOESN'T

-Jewel

-Navigator

just back from a back to back...got my cooler on the second night out!! its freaking awsome! pay for 7 get 8, leave it in your room during brakfast and the beer u left in it magicly gets filled with ice care of our WONDERFUL state room attendants!!!! i was able to take it everywhere with me! sit at the tables in the casino, on deck, wherever.....and always maintained with ice...it works like this for your FIRST one to get the cooler u pay for all 8 beer (any type) then u get the bag, then after it is pay for 7 get 8 for the rest of your trip....they are so great and keep beer cold for HOURS even in the hot sun! loved mine and its the best :)
