Sand Pine Posted March 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2012 We are on a cruise this October that terminates in New York City. Does anyone know the address or location of the terminal/dock? We will be renting a car as we arrive, does anyone have any information on doing this? Which rental cars have shuttles, or rental locations at the terminal? sitraveler Posted March 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2012 Oceania uses the west side passenger ship terminal, it's on the Hudson River in the upper 40's to mid 50's street. I suggest you go to the "homeports" part of this website to gather the info you need.

eddmel Posted March 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2012 Suggest you take a taxi to the nearest rental office of your choice.

JimandStan are spot on, if you're staying in NYC for any time at all, do not rent a car until you're ready to leave. Parking will cost you a mint. If you're renting a car to head out of the city, check that East Coast Departures board for info.
Hunding Posted March 13, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2012 Oceania ships berth at 55th Street and 12th Avenue in New York. Unless you have a private car service waiting, you will leave the terminal, walk across 12th Avenue, and queue up for a taxi. Previous posters are correct - don't rent a car until you are ready to drive out of the city. Otherwise, you will have to exchange your firstborn for a parking space!
Mura Posted March 13, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2012 Another New Yorker here ... I dearly hope you aren't planning on renting a car to drive around the City! As Hunding said ... maybe parking will cost your TWO first borns! Mura
Sand Pine Posted March 13, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted March 13, 2012 Our plan is to rent a car and immediately head across to New Jersey and visit somenone in South Jersey. Thank you for the location of the pier, with that I can figure out which rental office to book the car from.
sitraveler Posted March 13, 2012 #9 Share Posted March 13, 2012 I'd arrange transport to NJ and get the car there. Join a transfer to EWR and rent there. I see Hertz does have a West 50;s locale though.
