LIVE From the Jewel of the Seas 5 - 14 April 2012

Recommended Posts

The Aspin Summer is:

1/2 Blue Curacco

1/2 Malibu Rum

A Splash of Pineapple Juice

Best shaken over ice and strained into a chilled Martini glass.

They are very sweet but two or more of them can be devistating!

We alternated between the Diamond Lounge where we could eat and drink and the rotating Viking Crown Bar across the ship where we could drink and smoke.

Life is good on the Jewel!

Is there a dedicated DL now???

I am posting from my Onboard Command Center which normally is called the Business Center on deck 7 right next to the centrum.

I will get Judith to shoot a photo of me inaction tomorrow.

Tomorrow is a Sea Day so Iwill be wandering around the ship a bit.

Thank you Trainman - That really looks like a drink I'd like to try. But thanks for the warning, I think one of those would be enough for me. :D

There was a Girl there tonight. I will check tomorrow and get her name.

Thank you!

Trainman, if you get a chance, inquiring minds want to know how much longer Dennis will be the CD (will he still be on for the TA?).

I can ask him myself next weekend, but you know how impatient CCers can be when they want to know something :p

That should be Mariya from Ukraine. Tell her Ian said hello. The area is the Hollywood Odyssey and the Cigar Bar. It is was used as the CL overflow when we were last on board and the Diamond "event" was in the night club area across from the elevators where the rotating bar is. We love the Jewel and it is our favorite RCL ship now!!!! Thanks for the great refresher - we need to book another cruise on her soon!!!!

Jim, you and Judith look great. Wish I was there to have 4 am coffee with you. Like everyone else in here, I'm having cruise withdrawal. I'm never sure if your review helps or is torture.

Tied up just ahead of us in Port was a fully restored and operational WW-II Liberty Ship.

I am going to have to come back one day for a tour...

The ship is permanently docked there (since 1999), and both self-guided and docent guided tours are available: http://www.americanvictory.org/

Just as the ship's bridge passed under the bridge the Captain blew a long blast on the ships horns!

I couldn't help but wonder how many inattentive drives peed in their pants as they passed overhead.[/i]

I was thinking along the same lines, lol!

Enjoy your relaxing day at sea tomorrow... you and Judith look great and happy!

I upload my pictures to www.photobucket.com and then link them into Cruise Critic.

The Corvette Forum, which uses the same software as Cruise Critic, has an excellent "how to" on posting photos here:

Thanks I was planning on doing my own "LIVE" report if I have time
