Trainman-2 Posted April 5, 2012 Author #102 Share Posted April 5, 2012 The Ship's WiFi system is both slow and screwy! I could not use Google Chrome and had to use Explorer. I got 16 Photos uploaded and the above posts made in 47 Minutes for a Cost of $14.40 More later everyone...

palmettostatecruiser Posted April 5, 2012 #105 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Desert today was warm rice pudding with Vanilla Sauce, home made Whipped Creme, and Vanilla Soft Serve Yogert. I was just wondering today if they had rice pudding since they have that awesome bread pudding! I think we need to establish a Bread Pudding Brigade :)

Mmketeer Posted April 5, 2012 #107 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Just saw this ship today 4/5 and it was a beautiful ship. Have fun!! Bon Voyage! PS Besure to take some downtime at that Bali styled solarium for adults. :)
Mmketeer Posted April 5, 2012 #108 Share Posted April 5, 2012 We are relaxing and unpacking and tonight we will skip the MDR to see the ship go under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Great idea! Well worth grabbing something from the buffet and or room service instead. The weather is perfect for a bridge viewing!

cruzinmama2 Posted April 5, 2012 #111 Share Posted April 5, 2012 We are relaxing and unpacking and tonight we will skip the MDR to see the ship go under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. I cannot wait to see pictures of that, if you post them :D. That bridge brings back warm fuzzy memories of both my childhood and my first cruise on the Legend of the Seas.....ahhhh. MauiGirl55 Posted April 5, 2012 #112 Share Posted April 5, 2012 I feel like I'm sailing right along with you and the lovely Judith! Have to say, Trainman, that you are looking quite svelte with your weight loss!! Keep up the good work! (and I can't even lose 10 pounds)!
unberwoob Posted April 5, 2012 #113 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Hi Trainman, As always, I am looking forward to your reports and pictures. Although we live in St Louis, we always start our cruise trips out of Tampa since my sister is our dog sitter. We have always thought about cruising from there, but wish they had longer cruises (we don't like anything less than 12 days and usually do B2Bs as well). Don't miss being on deck as you go under the bridge. The helipad is the best place.
riclop Posted April 5, 2012 #114 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Have a fabulous cruise, Trainman! Curious, will you be strictly following your diet while you're cruising, or just eating what you want while being a little more careful? With a hamburger and pudding with whip cream??????? maritar Posted April 5, 2012 #115 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Trainman - Thank you, great start, loving already your "Live" report. Pictures are great and you and Judith look great! Happy sailing! :) First Lunch in the Windjammer! I tried the Honey Stung Chicken (as I alwasy do on the first day) and it was OK but salty, not sweet! The Greek Salad, a Cheeseburger, and some Potato Leek soup made a nice first meal. My usual first day lunch is Potato Leek soup and sandwich. Love that soup. hey Mari--you can tell her I'm coming(the 14th) OK, I'll say "hi" from you to Adriana and tell her that you are coming after our cruise. :D
PH8 Posted April 5, 2012 #116 Share Posted April 5, 2012 OK, I'll say "hi" from you to Adriana and tell her that you are coming after our cruise. :D Thanks....I just realized today she was the HD on the last SS cruise..
Trainman-2 Posted April 5, 2012 Author #117 Share Posted April 5, 2012 In defense of the ships computer systems, they are old. I have been spoiled lately on the Freedom, Oasis, and Allure. The Radiance was refitted with new computer systems and WiFi in the cabins lately. I guess I have been spoiled...

Trainman-2 Posted April 6, 2012 Author #122 Share Posted April 6, 2012 After Sail Away we had some time to kill so we wandered around a bit and ended up in the Diamond Lounge for snacks.
Trainman-2 Posted April 6, 2012 Author #123 Share Posted April 6, 2012 We alternated between the Diamond Lounge where we could eat and drink and the rotating Viking Crown Bar across the ship where we could drink and smoke. Life is good on the Jewel!

Trainman-2 Posted April 6, 2012 Author #125 Share Posted April 6, 2012 And then we went up to the bow to see the ship pass under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The sky was cloudy which meant I wasn't shooting into the sun. Just as the ship's bridge passed under the bridge the Captain blew a long blast on the ships horns! I couldn't help but wonder how many inattentive drives peed in their pants as they passed overhead.
