Freebythesea Posted April 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2012 What is the longest you waited to get your room assignment with a guarentee room? My sailing is in 7 days and I still don't have one while the folks on my roll call seem to all have been assigned and even the sailing for the following week have recieved assignments. I know that whatever we recieve will be perfect, just curious to hear what other's experiences are.
Padraic Posted April 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2012 We have received a cabin assigment as late as two days before the cruise. However, that time it had been changed when we arrived at Port Everglades to check in.
Cruising-along Posted April 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2012 The latest for us was 3 days out, but there have been many here who say they didn't get their cabin assignment until boarding the ship! We're waiting for ours right now, we're 12 days out and many on our roll call have gotten theirs. Our usual timeframe is 7-12 days out. You'll probably hear any time now. :D

Krazy Kruizers Posted April 15, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2012 A couple of people on this site have reported that they didn't get their cabin assignments until they were at the pier. Wish you good luck on an assignment.
jtl513 Posted April 15, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 15, 2012 On 8 guarantees, our latest was 3 days out. You might even hear today, as they do make assignments on weekends. We've gotten two on a Sunday.
PathfinderEss Posted April 15, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 15, 2012 Well you will know when you get to the pier. :D Seriously it can happen that late. Don't worry you have a cabin.
fatcat04 Posted April 15, 2012 #9 Share Posted April 15, 2012 Some folks don't get their cabin assignment until they show up at the port. And pier upgrades happen as well so good luck!! :)
Cruising-along Posted April 15, 2012 #10 Share Posted April 15, 2012 How did you end up finding out and how did it work out for you? Our PCC at HAL called us as we were walking out our front door to go to the airport! :D And it was our best upgrade ever, we went from an oceanview to a verandah. :)
hammybee Posted April 15, 2012 #11 Share Posted April 15, 2012 I believe that at least one mass market cruise line has been moving towards releasing all guaranteed cabin assignments at the pier. Upgrades occur when the cruise line needs (has sold) more cabin space in a class than is available.
