More bad press for Carnival

On, come on, that's silly. Nobody invented the Concordia's capsizing and, so far as we're able to determine, no one has invented the adrift fishing boat and the two dead boys. The only rush to judgment on this I've seen has been here on these boards. I'm so sick and tired of hearing how you people hate the news media so much. Like it's so much more unreliable than a bunch of anonymous people sitting on a website like this? Ha.

Reporting the News used to be a job that was respected. Picture people huddled around a radio trying to ascertain if tonight is the night that the bombing will most likely start or when America lost its young President and needed guidance and comforting. Now a days it is about ratings and drawing out the story until the next one that captivates the nation comes along. In my mind many of the so called news shows are just like a chat site but that is a sign of the times and a

Giant Step "backwards" for Mankind.

The careers that used to come with so much respect, like journalism, law (lawyer), and doctors, have really gone downhill. They are no longer careers. They are businesses. Journalism is probably the worst because they are politically biased or agenda driven. Look at NBC and their intentional doctoring of the George Zimmerman 911 tape. You just cannot judge anymore based on what is aired or printed by the media.

Some news regarding the Star Princess ignoring the fisherman:

Recently released video footage of the rescue at sea of the Fifty Cent has confirmed that it was not the same boat that was photographed by passengers on the Star Princess.

Alan Buckelew (Princess Cruises CEO) said “while this remains a tragic story, we are gratified to have scientific confirmation that the Star Princess was never in the vicinity of the adrift boat and that the boat photographed by our passengers was not the adrift Fifty Cent."

“Nevertheless, ” he added, “we have used this as a valuable learning opportunity and have strengthened our bridge reporting procedures to ensure that all messages of concern from passengers or crew are carefully evaluated by our senior bridge officers.”

Princess Cruises, referring to the photographs taken by the passengers says that “their photos depict a small white boat similar to Panga boats used by local fishermen in Central America. In contrast, the video footage of the Fifty Cent’s rescue shows a markedly different boat.”
