Liberty - Grill hours...

On some ships I have seen the grill keeps (or opens for) "late night" hours - until 12 or 1 am. I just read that Guy's burgers are only available from 12 to 6. Is there another (pre 2.0) grill on the Liberty that opens up to help satisfy late night munchies, or am I stuck with the LONG wait and POOR selection from room service?? (not counting Pizza as a desirable option, though in a pinch...)

Looking at a copy of the Liberty "FunTimes" Guys Burgers I believe open from

12-9:30, which is far better than the usual grill hours on other ships of 12-6pm. The deli is also open until 11pm.

I found a fairly recent copy of the Liberty Fun Times posted on John Healds blog -scroll down bottom right corner -Liberty is 3-12-12. Enjoy the Cruise--http://johnhealdsblog.com/funtimes/2012-03-12/

Thanks. I'll probably just hit 'em up for lunch there. We eat at 7PM, and after a few casino hours I am ready for a bite! By midnight or 1AM room service almost always reports that it'll take 40+ minutes. At 1AM, I sure don't want to wait around in my room (trying to stay awake) until almost 2!

Anyone one else seen the 12-1AM burger hours on any ships?

Tom,

Just off the Liberty. Will check the FTs for the exact times when I get home but I know neither Guys(which is just okay) nor Blue Iguana (which had great tacos) are open after dinner and might even close earlier. Same with Fish and Chips( good selection of ceviches and oysters and calamari fritters). Guess it's aft deli-pizza-room service to feed the late night munchies.

But BI has great breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros (eggs cooked to order) and little or no waiting beginning at 7:30A sea days/7A port days.

(The only day I see 7 AM on a ship is on debarkation day... talk about a rude awakening!!)

Hey - did they have any "Music" bands onboard (Music Asia, Music Motion, Music Boardwalk) or similar?

Normally Carnival has late night snacks somewhere on board (besides room service or pizza). On the Inspiration they had the grill open from like 11pm-1am and then then on the Freedom they had snacks at the sushi bar during that time. I'll be disappointed if the Liberty doesn't have something.

I've read in a couple reviews (and saw it in the FunTimes) that there's a late-night munchie station open somewhere on the Liberty from around 11:30pm- 1:00am. I'll be checking it out firsthand on my next Liberty cruise in a few months. :D

New Dawn for pop and a Latin band, forget their name; both just okay. Mostly DJs and a lonely guy on the guitar at Red Frog in the late afternoon. Lounge Lizard singer in atrium was too screechy/ offkey for my deaf ears, but the geritol set(of which I am refusing to be a member:D) seemed to love her.

Tom,

Grabbed a FT and checked the dining options.

Guy's is open Noon to 2:30P, as is the Fish n Chips and Blue Iguana for lunch.

Deli is open 11A to 11P. It's inside the Emile's Lido Buffet. There are late snacks 11P to 1A in the aft Lido buffet. 24 hours is Pizza Bar.

Sushi is 5P to 8:15P.

They had late night snacks in January back at the old aft grill. Yummy grilled ham and cheese sandwiches were one of the options. :)

This is good to know! Now I can be fairly confident that I won't go hungry (well, starve at any rate) LOL ! :D

Tom, don't mean to change the subject, but I think I had read where you had a corner aft wrap on the Dream before. Was wondering what room you had and what you thought of it. We have room 6492 booked, and can't wait to see what it is like. We have had aft wraps on the Liberty and Splendor. Hope the Dream is just as good.

I think there were also hot dogs chicken sandwiches, and some other items, but once I tried one of those sandwiches I kept getting the same thing!

Nope. Guy's closes at 6 daily.

Our FT for last Friday had Guy's, Blue Iguana, and Fish n Chips closing at 2:30P That was a seaday. I do know that BI and FnC were closed by 3P because I went through FnC about that time heading off deck 10's covered lounger area and went aft walking by BI. Need to revisit a FT for a port day as hours might be different. But yes these options aren't open even as late as Emilie's Lido Buffet.

On the "VH1-Best Cruise Ever II" last April on the Inspiration, I was thrilled to find these options (seems like it was after 1am) at the buffet:

The pulled pork sandwiches were especially tasty! I was told this was requested as part of the charter.

SAD that there apparently won't be a VH1-BCEIII !!

Yes, on our last Dream cruise we were eating burgers from the grill late, then we would go back to our room and order dessert from room service. :D

Tom, I have all the fun times from both cruises. Which one are you on, Eastern or Western? I can post the times for Guys from either.

We are not late night snackers, so did not really pay much attention, but I do remember there being a late night buffet one night, again, I can check the Fun Times for you.

My hubby and I were not fans of them either. I thought the Latin band was better, but our favorites were TJ and Chris out at the Red Frog and Blue Iguana. We even skipped the fun farewell party on the second leg, as we did not want to have to hear them play again! Very Lounge Lizard.

This go-around it's WEST! We'll be soaking up the atmosphere in our Roatan cabana on July 4th! I didn't lay out even 30 minutes the last time we were there, and managed a pretty good sunburn! The fact that it was formal night (brought my tux) didn't help matters... I ended up dressing down just a tad from the planned attire!

I so prefer the West! Here are the times for Guys:

Embarkation day: noon to 6

Sea day: noon to 6

Cozumel: noon to 6

Belize: noon to 6

Mahogany Bay: noon to 6

OK, they are all noon to 6!

Some other options...

Late Night Snacks every night but Mahogany Bay night from 11pm to 1am at Emile's.

Mahogany Bay night has a Late Night Buffet instead from 11:30 to 1am. Blue Iguana also offers chips and salsa that night from 11:30 to 1am. That's the Mexican Fiesta night.

I'll try to scan the Fun Times and put them on a google docs when I finish typing my review.
