Rare Hlitner Posted May 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2012 Hi All: So six of us would like to share a taxi from the port to the Acropolis. Do the taxis in Greece hold six people? thanks for any info Normal taxis only hold up to 4 (and that is tight). There are some van/taxis that can handle 6 but there is no guarantee that you will find one in Pireaus. If you have your heart set on using a car you might want to explore the possiblitiy of using a reserved car/driver that you arrange on the internet. Otherwise, the train from Pireaus costs less then $2 and you can transfer to the metro line (on the same ticket) that takes you to the stop near the Acropolis. paul929207 Posted May 14, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2012 Either take two taxis or take the bus and Metro. The bus/metro is about 1 euro per person each way.
6rugrats Posted May 14, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2012 I don't know of any regular taxi anywhere that can hold more than four people and the driver.
zqvol Posted May 15, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2012 In Athens most taxis are 3 people plus the driver maximum.
