Do Spa Treatments WORK?

Ok. I was reading about the spa treatments doing my pre-cruise stuff and began to harbor a little hope that they could REALLY cure wrinkles. Thank you áll for setting me straight and bringing my reality check. A girl can dream anyway. I guess I'll save my money for the casino. If I can't be beautiful, maybe I can be rich! You could never accuse me of not being an eternal optimist. :D

Thanks also for all the helpful suggestions!

They make it sound so good. Think about it though.

If so good stores all over would be selling the stuff.

Skip the teeth whitening.

It was mentioned as one item NOT to spend your cruise dollars on in a CC article I read..

..of course I read that after dropping over $100 on the Splendor.

This service is nothing more than a stain-remover.

Don't get sucked in by your enthusiasm.

Listen carefully to the blurb response you get when you ask about it:

"Whitens teeth UP TO 2 and a half shades lighter"

(i.e. in ideal situations, where you teeth are dreadfully stained by coffee and tobacco

and where their stain removal techniques work very well on specifically-you).

When I asked ..they wanted $150, but after interpreting their blurb

I figured out that $150 for a quick stain removal service seemed just a tiny bit overpriced.

Had it been $149.50 I mighta gone for it...

There's a reason that Sucker and Spa both begin with the same letter

but you go ahead and make their day, don't let us stop you!

If you need to be "pampered" (whatever that affected phrase means)

you go girl -it's only money!

And after your Spa treatments, go sign up for the Art Auction thing too. :)

I had the wrap to lose inches and basically had seaweed applied and plastic wrap...it was not all over but I had to pick a location...I had stomach and upper legs. It was pricey and afterwards I was very pressured to buy bottles to take home. I told her that I just did this just for a spa day not needing to purchase anything for home but she kept insisting stating this a waste of time if I didn't buy items to continue home treatment making me unconfortable. I had gone in for pampering and was leaving regreting even booking it.

Save your money on this and get a nice massage when you get home.

Oh they are goood at the Product Pressure after your treatment.

I've read this so many times now, this is established scientific fact! :D

The whole thing is snake-oil

but so many girls love it and fall for it

-or there wouldn't be spas on board...would they? :D

I forgot to say the most important thing about skin care. Never ever EVER leave the house without sun protection! It should be a part of any home skin care program :) I'm sure Mindy agrees!

Ha! Yes! I wear sunscreen on my face, chest and arms every day! :D:D:D

I personally don't think that it's all snake oil, there really are benefits, but it takes more than one treatment to see anything, that's why I also recommend home skin care. I just realized that my autocorrect changed 'regiment' to 'regime', lol!

When I go to spas, I just tell them in advance that I'm there to relax and be pampered and I'm not interested in buying products. Usually works. If I'm interested in something (usually not due to cost), I'll ask about it.

I happen to be very fortunate and have a local esthetician who has her own business, uses amazing products, and is amazing herself. A fabulous 2 hour facial (with back, hands and feet) for $100. Talk about a pampering steal (I tip well)!

YES the do work at REMOVING your MONEY! :D

Go see a local dermatologist, it could be as simple as fungus or bacterial infection that could be cleared up quickly... just saying.

Agree 100%. I only have gone one time b/c I had an huge OBC and all they did was try and talk me into buying the products. I felt soooo pressured.
