Interesting Cabana Marketing for HMC

It appears that HAL is trying an interesting marketing attempt with the HMC cabanas. They used to all be listed together under "Private Cabana Package - ____" with the color and alphabetical with ALL of the shore excursions.

Now, they are interspersed throughout all of the shore excursions for our cruise to HMC. A marketing attempt to get more people to notice the cabanas?.....even at the 399.95?

Never saw the fascination with these cabanas. Looks like something a couple of boy scouts could build in an hour or two. Cabana... fancy word for tree house

I just went in there this morning and noticed the same thing. Our cruise only has 2 sold and they are both waitlisted. Seems kinda strange that with all of the cabanas available that 2 are waitlisted. Are they some special cabanas that everyone wants or is HAL trying to make it seem like people are buying them?

Waitlisted just means someone has bought it. Doesn't mean, necessarily, there is anybody waiting for it.

very clever.....though I am not fooled! I truly love HMC as so many of us do, but there is no way I would pay 400 for one of those.....It will be interesting to see how they sell at this price point...I can think of many other ways to spend my money on my cruise. I just get a clamshell for shade and still have someone that will bring me a pina colada!!! Oh and I get the same gorgeous view.......

The only cabana worth booking is the Grand Cabana (with a group). Otherwise not worth it IMO:) I really can't see people forking out this kind of money - but then again, what do I know;)

only 5 are left for our next sailing. we booked the grand cabana, its a better deal. blessed we were able to book it before the price went up. I am sure we will meet some new friends.

Those will probably remain unsold. Those that booked before the price increase were the smart ones.

 

I don't see a rush to book cabanas as there was in the past. Only time will tell.

We did the cabana thing last year, sharing with friends so cost was kept to $150/couple. In all honesty, I don't even think it was worth that much. For those that are concerned about shade, there is plenty of shade available for all. Glad we did it once - but would not lay out the money for it again. DW has too many other things of major importance to pick up.:D

We booked ours in 2011 as it was direct through shore ex dept so way before increase. In some instances they will allow an early booking.

 

All standard cabanas for our sailing were $399
