Captains's club discount book

Can anyone who has recently sailed with Celebrity tell me what offers are included in the "premium onboard discount booklet" that is given to classic tier Captain's Club members? Was wondering how it compared with Royal Caribbean's gold level Crown and Anchor booklet.

That is some old language, probably from some PR statement, as it hasn't been a book or booklet for quite some time. It's a sheet of coupons. There will be some % off laundry, bingo, wine, spa treatments, and other things on board. For Classic members there isn't much, but as you move to Elite, the coupons are quite good, with some free Internet minutes, some free laundry, and other on-board services. How the coupons compare with C&A I don't know.

Thanks for the info. Asked the Captain's Club rep. about it when I had them on the phone yesterday, but she had no idea what perks/coupons were being offered.

Astounding!

If they don't know that then I canh't imagine what their job involves.

I missed the sheet the first day because I was looking for a booket :D

What does the captain club rep do?

I think it a waste of a crew member

If you have not sailed Ceelbrity yet, I believe that you must be at least RCCL Platinum level to receive any reciprocal recognition on Celebrity.

Yes, and all pretty much useless except for the coupon sheet. Someone has posted the coupon sheets for different levels online before. There are also some casino coupons for table play.

The on-board Captain's Club host/hostess organizes the Captain's Club recognition parties, helps out when your Sailing History isn't right, answers questions about the program, some of them can do future cruise bookings, usually issues the invitations to the Officer's Tables on formal nights in the MDR, sends a flower or a small gift to Elite members on board, among other things.

The Captain's Club reps that you speak to on the phone are often more knowledgeable about sailing on Celebrity than the other CSR's, but in Lysinger's case, couldn't answer a fairly simple question, so obviously wasn't one of the better-trained CSR's.

Yes, I saw the above info in their literature, but I was wondering what specific discount offers were in the booklet/sheet.

I thought it was a fairly simple question to be answered too, but in her defense she did get to the bottom of the real issue that I called in about, which was a missing complimentary fine-dining allowance that had been promised by the Celebrity cruise rep we'd booked with, so I wasn't all that annoyed with her. Guess we'll find out if there's anything we can actually use in the discount thing when we get on board. (At least now I'll know to look for a sheet of coupons rather than a booklet.)
