Carpe-Diem Posted July 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2012 Just returned from a B2B on the Glory. The Casino Vault game is a major rip off. I never once played it but found it interesting how Carnival would take one iPad and some money out of the machine halfway through each cruise to give the appearance that someone won something. If people are winning as Carnival says they are, that means on back to back cruises on the Glory, they gave away 2 iPads and about $3000 in 9 days. Rare chasinraynbowz Posted July 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) From all that I have read, people can play that game 24/7 (they can play even if the casino is closed) and people have won both iPads and money. So unless you saw it first hand or sat there 24/7, how do you know they removed an iPad and some money??? Edited July 20, 2012 by chasinraynbowz

tmyersc Posted July 20, 2012 #10 Share Posted July 20, 2012 Ok just to let you know the I pad I'm using I won on the liberty! Then last week on the ecstasy I won 500. It's a chance game just like anything in the casino! Yes I spent around 100 playing but it was for fun!

Herfnerd Posted July 20, 2012 #14 Share Posted July 20, 2012 My BIL won $200 (I think) this past May on the Elation - he spent almost half that to get it, though......
jas1178 Posted July 20, 2012 #15 Share Posted July 20, 2012 I post this everytime it comes up: PLEASE be aware this is a game of CHANCE not a game of SKILL. It is randomly picks winners while maintaining a return on investment ratio set by the owner. It does this with the ILLUSION of a game of skill. As long as you understand this and don't get sucked in...you DO have a chance to win, just like pulling a slot handle...but your odds are much worse ;-)
CRJ700 Posted July 20, 2012 #16 Share Posted July 20, 2012 Can someone describe the game. Is it the old pusher machines? Google "Sega Keymaster". There is a lot of insteresting info available on odds of winning and even a programming manual that describes how the pay out schedule is set. Word of warning, it's not just a game of skill. According to what I read, unless the machine has taken in the required amount of money it will not let you win.:(
hockeyluver Posted July 20, 2012 #17 Share Posted July 20, 2012 We were on the Glory in January and watched one guy win 2 ipads!! and saw a woman win a bundle of cash. I tried it once, dh tried a couple times, not an easy game to play.

yogimax Posted July 20, 2012 #19 Share Posted July 20, 2012 It would appear it is a matter of matching height to the key, why is not all skill? I took look at the details and it appears that there is a random deviation built into the play. In other words, the game will move the key a random distance either up or down on each play. It also looks (though I'm not sure), that payouts are set at the 1/700 level.

Sure saw lots of dollar bills being fed into the machine though.

dadof2boys Posted July 20, 2012 #22 Share Posted July 20, 2012 This seems crazy. So you have to line up the key perfectly then hope that it's your turn for it to pay out? I mean that's tougher than a slot machine. At least a slot will pay out, no skill required.

beckymomof2 Posted July 20, 2012 #25 Share Posted July 20, 2012 I don't know anything about the game but I have played that quarter game where the thing slides back and forth and quarters fall out. Other than that I don't gamble. However, I did see Carnival employee rearranging things in the machine so that the next time when people played not as much would fall out. I think they did this when hardly anyone would be in the casino. I know it's all speculation, but I wouldn't be suprised if they took an ipad out. But if those of us that play still play, Carnival still makes money and it is their right to mess with the machine. Not exactly what we want to hear about, but there isn't anything illegal about it.
