Marina - Oceanview is over Casino - could there be any noise?

We are considering the Oceanview cabin on Marina for a Baltic cruise as we probably wouldn't use a Verandah since this itinerary is port intensive and likely to be chilly.

The Oceanview cabins are directly over the casino. Can anyone tell me if we will hear any noise from the casino?

Any other comments on these cabins?

Thanks for any input you can provide.

My first thought is that your questions are moot, for two reasons:

#1 The Oceanview cabins generally sell out instantly

#2 The Casino on the Marina is particularly quiet

Other than that, the soundproofing between the decks is excellent and the Oceanview Cabins are beautiful, light filled and spacious, so go for it!

Thanks all for your input, particuarly JimandStan. We are planning ahead for the 2014 Baltics cruise which should be available soon. I look every day. So hopefully we do have a shot at the Oceanview. I would normally take a Verandah, but I think its a waste in the Baltics.

Thanks,

Kathy

Curious what month you are looking at. We went in July and had everything from 60 in Stockholm to 100 in St. Petersburg. Many days were lovely and we did enjoy our veranda. It was probably in the mid 70's for the majority of the cruise. Yes, it's port intensive, but after a full day it was lovely to relax on the veranda before dinner.

Not sure - have to wait and see what dates they offer the 10 day Stockholm to Copenhagen on Marina. I have talked to one other person who had great weather, but have talked to many who said it was cold. Glad you had great weather. Hope we do as well. I would rather have great weather and be sorry I took the Oceanview than have cold weather and be happy about no Verandah. We shall see. First I have to actually get the cabin.

We will have an OV under the casino on our upcoming Riviera cruise.

Do I need to worry about noise? From the postings, I don't think so, but...

We were over the GDR on Marina & never heard a thing

We did the Baltics with Renaissance in May 2001 and had beautiful weather most of the time. We certainly used our veranda a fair amount of the time. Not so much to sit and bask, but for viewing the scenery.

Granted, weather may have changed since then ... although I've heard something about global warming ...

Of course there is no predicting just what kind of weather YOU will encounter.
