My husband and I got our applications submitted at a post office on Aug. 4th and received them in the mail yesterday, Aug. 20th

 

 

Oh and, we haven't received our birth certificates back yet.

The original and renewals took 2 weeks. However, as you can see, the timeline varies. Assuming you have a closed loop cruise, I'd get extra copies of your birth certificates. That's what I did last year when I had to send away for a visa (for a work trip) shortly before a cruise.

You should be able to go to the Office of Vital Statistics. We got a duplicate of my BC to send when we had to send mine in for the passport. I am paranoid and decided that it would be better to have it--just in case.

My daughter's friend (going with us this year) got her passport in exactly three weeks also this summer. It was not a renewal. I think you will be fine as long as you filled everything out correctlly.

 

Checking on line did not help me at all. My renewal just showed up one day.

 

Since you are cruising in a month, I feel they will send it out ASAP.

I mailed my renewal 20 days ago and I'm still waiting for it. I sail next Thursday so I knew it was a bit of a crap shoot as to whether it would be here in time but if it doesn't come then I will sail with my BC.

My DH submitted for a new passport and I put mine in the mail for renewal the same day. He got his back in 12 days and I got mine back in 20. We sent them on July 30th. His paperwork came back 4 days after his passport. I would look into getting another copy of your BC.

We were applied for the first time for our passports and we got them back in 3.5 weeks. They told us it would be 4-6 weeks when we applied.

We both applied for new passports last year to go on our honeymoon (my husband's previous one had expired when he was a teenager and I'd never had one before). That took about 3-4 weeks.

 

I applied for a renewal this summer with my new married name and that one also took about 3-4 weeks to receive. And both times our birth certificates, etc came after we received the passports. I'll cross my fingers that yours arrives in time.

My step daughter went on 7/31/12 to apply and she got it in the mail 8/20/12

About 10 days and this was over the New Year. Non- expedited first passport for my son. Applied at the post office

Dropped mine off at a Houston area post office on 07/27...received bc and pp card on 08/10 received pp book on 08/11

You might be cutting it close as it is a new application - Don't know why you didn't expedite!

hmmmm...... received mine in 3 weeks, BUT didn't get my birth certificate back for an additional 2 weeks. cutting it awful close.

2 weeks. It was much faster than I expected.

Our passports took 4 weeks.

It took just over 2 weeks for us to get ours last November. We ran into the problem of my wifes name being done incorrectly, so she had to mail it back with more paperwork and they expedited it to us. 2 weeks for me, almost 4 for her.

It took 3 weeks and 4 days. Just got our renewals back last week.

 

You can check online and it will tell you when they receive it. They also sent me an email saying that it was being sent out. :)
