beachseeker Posted August 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2012 We were on the Quest in July and booked a 2nd trip for December 2013 over New Years. We were told we had 60 days to transfer our booking to a travel agent. Are there benefits to doing so? If a travel agent is offering a lower price or OBC can we take advantage of those offerings by transferring our booking or are we locked into the quoted price on board? Phxazzcruisers Posted August 29, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2012 If your TA will offer you an OBC, by all means transfer the reservation to them. We always transfer our reservation to our TA, not for the OBC, but because she answers all of our questions and handles the final payments. Rare May B Posted August 30, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2012 I believe Azamara's policy is that cruise fares are not to be discounted, other than group bookings (probably non-existent for a holiday cruise). Therefore you will pay the same, regardless of whether you purchase from Azamara directly or through an agency. The mega agencies can give larger thank you gifts but you may find the service more to your liking from an agent like Phxazzcruisers mentioned. Or, perhaps not. There are good agents and mediocre ones -- sort of like everything in life.
