Salacia Posted September 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2012 Heads up: Carnival Cruise Ships will no longer issue future cruise credits on all sailings departing on or after September 27, 2012. quoted from https://www.goccl.com/content/news_and_alerts/documents/FAQ_Future_Carnival_Vacations_Program_091112_final.pdf Hopefully, this will not impact other cruise lines in the CCL fleet. The spiral downwards continues. This is what happens when bean counters are in charge (and I'm a CCL stockholder).

bluemarble Posted September 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2012 What about those we alrady have that have to be used within four years of 'buying' them? Quoting from the FAQ in the link Salacia provided: All outstanding certificates purchased will be honored up to the expiration date printed on the face of the certificate. Regards, John. fishywood Posted September 13, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2012 Had I not been reading the comments by the fine regulars of this board, I never would have known that Cunard offers future cruise credits at all. The plugs for the Voyage Sales Specialists in the Daily Programme onboard urge one to "discover the great advantage of booking your future voyages onboard" but I found nary a word about the ability to place a down payment toward a future booking--and receive OBC for doing so--in the 23 days of Programmes from last year I just looked through. Contrast with Princess (and from what I have read on their board, HAL) on which their onboard salesperson seemingly prefers one to just buy the FCC and work out the booking details after returning home. Underwatr Posted September 13, 2012 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2012 I think the cabin presentation videos on the in-room entertainment do mention the opportunity to purchase FCCs, but I agree that the focus is more on booking a particular voyage.
