While we are all waiting for him to come back and finish, if you want to go read my Destiny B2B review from last year, you can find it here:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1413655&highlight=b2b+mountainbreeze

You will have to wade past my Key West wedding to get to the actual cruise part of the review :p

MOUNTAINBREEZE, what a fabulous wedding/cruise review. Loved your text, pictures, story and wonderful sense of humor. I have already added your blog page to my favorites so that I can go to it (when I have more time, have been sitting here for forever reading your wedding/cruise review, stopping and gazing at every photo). Hope that I can hear all about your reunion on that blog - can't wait for that story.

You two are just too cute! Relish every moment together.

I AM BACK!!!!

I am so sorry that I have been off the grid for so long. I will spare you the details but I had the entire review saved on my iPad and then someone stole my iPad...at church of all places! Anyway, the police tracked it down and I just got it back. I had it all finished and everything and was so bummed that I lost everything. Anyway, I got it back and in my possession and the person who had it is sitting in jail tonight. I am so sorry and should have come back to give an explanation but I was just so torn about it all. Again, I am back and am very sorry for the delay.

Back to the review shall we????

After dinner we casually walked around wondering and watched a dance class. Then we decided to try our hand at bingo and obviously you can tell we did not win. It was $30 for 6 cards and 2 pull-tabs.

file-1489.jpg

After that, we stayed for the game of love. Unfortunately we were one of the couples picked to play the game. We had done this game before on another cruise and while the wives were being asked questions, we stood out on one of the forward crew decks and then they brought us back in. I thought that’s what we would do here too but I was wrong! They took us husbands to the back and made us dress up like Chippendale dancers! I came out wearing nothing but a bow tie, cuffs, and a pair of Elmo boxers that were 2 sizes to small with “tickle this” written on the butt of them. Embarrassing? YES! From that moment on, everyone on the ship knew who us 3 couples were because they showed it non-stop until the end of the cruise. People would come up and say “he good job on the game” and I would respond “people keep getting me confused for him but it was not me”. Some bought the lie but most could tell by the embarrassment in my eyes I was lying! It was all in good fun but thankful no church members were around!

Words of wisdom from me: Be careful what you volunteer for because you may just end up on TV in 1600 staterooms in your Elmo boxers.

After a nice day at Half Moon Cay, we were tired and ready to hit the hay. We knew tomorrow was going to be early morning in Nassau, Bahamas so we decided to hit the sack early. We had a wonderful day and by far this was our favorite part of our B2B cruise. We loved Half Moon Cay and will most definitely return there again!

We got up and got ready to go for our day in Nassau. We decided to book the Atlantis water park day while there. We chose this because we really enjoy water parks. Maybe it is because we are kids at heart but when we were reading the reviews about Atlantis, we really wanted to go but it was quite more than what we really wanted to spend on an excursion at $175 per person. We began to look into seeing what it would cost us to book the excursion through an independent tour. Between the onboard credit we already had, lunch and transportation included we decided it was actually worth it to book through Carnival. We booked while on board at the excursion desk and they said there were plenty of spots left. We awoke that morning and were ready to head to the pier by 8:30am.

When we stepped off the ship, we saw that we were not alone in port as the Carnival Fantasy beat us to Nassau this morning.

Walking down the pier we saw the Atlantis signs and people standing in line. This was maybe 50 feet from the gangway of the ship right where everyone was passing by. We noticed there were people filling out paperwork so we went and asked for one. It was basically release of liability from Atlantis that everyone had to fill out.

file-2129.jpg

After filling out the release and turning in your ticket, the gentleman here would give you an armband and also your voucher for lunch for the day.

file-1352.jpg

file-430.jpg

The building in the middle of this picture between two ships was where we were meeting to turn in our tickets and get our wristbands for the water park.

file-1902.jpg

In the distance you can see Atlantis waiting for us in the beautiful Bahamian sun.

file-2072.jpg

We just happen to be parked out on one of the farthest spots on the pier so we had to walk all the way to the town that you see in the distance

The beautiful Carnival destiny decided to show us her backside.

file-1980.jpg

As we were walking along we passed the Bahamian Navy and they were all in formation getting instructions from someone.

file-2357.jpg

We saw the line for the taxicabs and were in a taxi in no time.

One weird thing about taxicabs in the Caribbean is that there is seating in the very front for 2 people where the driver seat would be here in the states. For some reason I like that seat and ended up sitting there in every taxicab we got on. It honestly gives you the best view as you are rolling along the streets.

As we were crossing the bridge heading to Atlantis, you could see the Disney Dream pulling in alongside the Carnival Destiny.

file-2474.jpg

As we get closer and closer you could tell that this was one massive resort!

When we arrived at Atlantis, they dropped us off and introduced us to tour guide that would walk us around the campus and show us where everything is for the waterpark.

file-1874.jpg

I did not mind the tour and thought the information they gave was informative. It was cool seeing their MASSIVE casino and all the glass works of art inside. Each glass work of art is insured for 1 million dollars!!!

file-758.jpg

They toured us around the property showing the lagoons, slides, pools, and the waterfalls. It really was a pristine property and they kept it in immaculate shape.

They told us about the suite in between the two buildings. The cost is $25,000 a night with a minimum of four nights. I don't know about you but I'll just take the view from down here!

file-2137.jpg

The one thing we did not know was that other than the casino, Atlantis is a cashless facility. When we went to go rent a locker, we did not have cards but all we had was cash. A couple was nice enough to rent us a locker on their card and we gave them cash. Here is a sign of all the prices of the different lockers. We chose a small locker and it was more than adequate for two backpacks and towels.

This is the challenger waterslide where you could race side-by-side. They would time you and you could see your time when you got to the bottom. Looking to the left and the right of each slide is the timer, the small black rectangle.

file-1000.jpg

Here comes two people sliding down the slide with action shots of them hitting the water. It was really cool to watch the people but it was more fun actually experiencing the slides firsthand.

They had a great kids play area! Watching the families and kids splashing in the pool made me miss my kids for a little bit. They would've loved this place and I would've loved to have fun with them but again this trip was for mom and dad only.

file-1402.jpg

Here is one of the many kiddie pools. If you notice there's a small slide built into the rocks. Again, my kids would have never left this place!

This slide is called the “Leap of Faith”. You can actually get nervous while waiting to go down. I loved the slide but the bad part about it is that you get a major wedgie on the way down!

file-201.jpg

After sliding, swimming and being on the lazy river we decided to pack it up for the day, grab lunch and take our time getting back to the ship. Here are some of the pictures of the beautiful facilities we saw along the way.

We stopped to get lunch along the way at a place called “Dive In”. I decided to get some pictures of the menu that way you can determine if you'd rather buy the excursion with lunch or do lunch on your own. In our case it ended up working out to be cheaper to do it through Carnival.

We got one burger and one chicken sandwich for lunch. Neither was horrible and did the trick to fill up our empty bellies!

The one downside about eating lunch is that birds are everywhere and they are not shy to tell you they want some of your food.

I decided to give this guy a little snack.

We walked out of the resort and got in our cab and headed back to the pier. While we were crossing the bridge we noticed there were now five ships in port. When we left this morning, there were only two! This little island has grown in population in the few hours we were gone!

file-2109.jpg

When we got back to the port we decided to walk around and try to find a Christmas ornament. There were people trying to get you to rent scooters, buy T-shirts, designer handbags, and pretty much anything else you can imagine. It was interesting walking around the market and seeing people buying and selling. We did not buy anything but it was just fun to see the sights.

On the way back we asked one of the soldiers where immigration was so that we could get our passports stamped from the Bahamas. They were more than happy to point out a building just off to the right of the path back to the ship. Here's a picture of it so you can see where you can get your passport stamped as well.

After getting our passports stamped we started walking down the pier. We walked by the Sensation, Disney Dream, Ecstasy, and Fantasy on the way back to our girl, Destiny.

Many people were sad that day because they were leaving their last port before they had to get off the ship. Not us because we knew that our trip was not even halfway done yet! We were staying on tomorrow so we had nothing to worry!!!

Pulling away you could see the Disney Dream and everyone having fun on board. Someone said that we were not the largest in port that day but we definitely were not the smallest either!

Glad to see you are back I was running out of time to hear what you had to do the day of debarkation (which of course you really didn't have to because you were doing a B2B) please fill me in on the procedure. Were you notified ahead of time what to do? Thank you for any info you have to offer.

I'm sorry about the mess with your ipad but glad you got it back in one piece.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun on your cruise and the epics are awesome.:)
