I tried Flickr with no luck. Just went to Costco Photo and copied and pasted and it worked' date=' but that's not where I have ALL my pictures.....[/quote']

What are you doing to try and get pictures from Flickr?

Just found this thread and decided I would try post something. This is from a recent trip to Bora Bora.

EDIT; I was not able to paste the image using the iPad. I used the CC attachment manager which greatly restricts the image size.

Are you using either photobucket or flickr to get your pictures for CC?

No, I don't. I haven't had the need to add photos to posts in the past but that might change. Does either site have an advantage over the other?

I do use Picasa and like that since it uses geotags to show where the photo was shot. My DW and I both have the GPS Lumix to help us keep track of locations. I don't know if I can use Picasa to post on CC.

I use both.

I use SF for just about everything, albums, web site, photo books, etc. It is very good.

But, for posting my photos here, I use PB. I find it really easy for that, and with PB, you can easily change the sizes of your pix.

Thanks for the information. Our daughter uses SF all the time and has done some great books with them. My wife is in the process of picking images from our world cruise to do a book, probably on SF. I have also considered Blurb. It has the advantage that you do your layout offline so it could be started while on the ship and not have internet charges.

Here are my directions for Flickr using my iPad

  • tap on the picture you want to post until it comes up in a screen by itself
  • tap on it again and "View all sizes" will come up in the right corner
  • tap on "View all sizes" and choose the one you want (I usually use one of the medium sizes for CC)
  • press and hold the upper left corner of the picture (I sometimes have to do this a couple of times) until the box that says "Save Image" and "Copy" comes up
  • tap "Copy"
  • Go to CC and choose where you want to post reply
  • tap the yellow picture icon at the top
  • remove the http:// in the box that pops up
  • tap the white area and hit paste and then "OK"
  • the address of your picture will show in the reply box but when you "submit reply" or "preview post" your picture will show up

There may be an easier way but that is what I discovered through trial and error. I cannot make Photobucket work right now but if I figure it out I will post my directions.

You can get this info on any picture, just mouse pointer on picture, right click, properties, and you can see the link from where the picture resides.

To post here from your Picasa web-albums, just bring up the photo you want to post in your web-album, right-click on it and select 'Copy Image', then come to your CC post, right-click where you want the photo and select 'paste'
