Beachlover76 Posted October 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2012 was just on the magic last week, and there was an abundance of chairs in all areas. never had a problem finding one.
Georgiagolfer Posted October 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2012 Off the Fascination last week, and never noticed a problem with people holding chairs. As pointed out, the time limit is 40 minutes. Many people posting on reviews are saying the times are being enforced, at least most cases.:D
cruzn buckeye Posted October 13, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 13, 2012 On the Sept 8 Liberty, it was THIRTY minutes... don't know why it was different there, but it worked...:D It is really nice being able to find a chair at any time of day... no need to fight with shoes, oranges, and towels anymore... Anthomaniac Posted October 13, 2012 #8 Share Posted October 13, 2012 Really, chair saving with oranges? Yup! There is a thread somewhere with chair hog photos, showing flip flops towels, etc and there is a picture of an orange holding a chair...pretty funny

On the Magic now. Great for always having seats available. But, haven't seen one towel removed in six days.

Anyway does anyone know what the actual policy is? What is the length of time being empty? 30 min ?? 40 minutes. W saw it happen on the Splendor last month. It is interesting because an officer has to oversee it.. so the staff calls an officer..who comes and stands there while the staff member places all the items in a white burlap sack. Pretty cool. sharecruises Posted October 13, 2012 #11 Share Posted October 13, 2012 Sept 8 on Freedom : signs up said 40 minutes didn't use main pool but didn't notice chair hogs serenity was crowded but seats filled, not many saved, was able to get/move loungers aft/adult pool had lots of lounger available, no real "hogging"
QUIGONATOR Posted October 13, 2012 Author #12 Share Posted October 13, 2012 Do you think this applies to the Serenity area as well? I actually think they might want to set a time limit in the serenity area. When we sailed in the spring we never got a hammock or clamshell the entire 7 day cruise we were on:(
KC_Cruiser_1 Posted October 13, 2012 #13 Share Posted October 13, 2012 Just off the Triumph today. Chairs were always available wherever you wanted to sit. It was very nice.
pe4all Posted October 13, 2012 #14 Share Posted October 13, 2012 I am really hoping they continue this policy, and actually remove the items. We cruise during high traffic holiday sailings, and when I go to the gym at 6 a.m., literally every chair already has a towel, book, shirt, etc. on it - but no people!! The chairs start getting occupied around 9-10 a.m., making it impossible for those who come out after 7 a.m. to find any chairs on Lido, or above Lido, or even in the Serenity/adult areas!! Will be interested to see how this works out on Breeze during Christmas!!
doitallWMB Posted October 14, 2012 #15 Share Posted October 14, 2012 We were on the Dream a couple of weeks ago and the crew told us 45 minutes. There are specific people that handle item removal. They have t-shirts saying team member. They can and will put your stuff, including the orange in lost and found. They did it for us at the aft pool and the soccer mom was pissed. OH well. The security guy in the white shirt walked up and she calmed down quickly. This lady came back after we had been there for 2 hours... go figure.
