Trekker954 Posted October 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2012 I'm curious about when the new expiration date change I noticed on our last Majesty cruise. There is no longer an expiration date but rather a Version number. Our January 2012 cruise had an expiration date, we didn't sail again until last month and the Version was 17. Did they really have 17 versions between that time? The both say Valid this cruise only but that wasn't really true in the past. In the past, if we were sailing on a short cruise and didn't use our coupons, we'd often take them with us on a next sailing and be able to use them especially if before the expiration date. I have three sailing on RCI in Dec and am wondering if my coupon book will still be Version 17. I can't believe they are printing out new books on a weekly basis just to change the version number. Anyone whos cruised often since they made this change have any insight? The only ones I use are the internet, the casino spin, and BOGO drinks and the sometimes the free photo. I've been using version 17 for several months now, I think since May.

cruisegirl1 Posted October 24, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 24, 2012 We had Version 17 on our recent (October 2012) Monarch sailing. I think this was the first number used when they went from expiration dates to version numbers. Version numbers are likely better for RCCL as they can keep a current printed version as long as they see fit. m
smoosh21 Posted October 24, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 24, 2012 Glad to know its still 17. Hopefully it is still 17 in November as I have some coupons that I didn't use, but would still like to.
Trekker954 Posted October 24, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted October 24, 2012 My neice and her new husband (33 and 39 yo) were married Memorial weekend and honeymooned on the Allure in June. I gave her my left over coupon books (mostly for the BOGO drinks) and explained they may not accept them especially if the expiration date changed. (I know, I'm not suppose to do that). When she returned she told me they didn't accept them, so they never used them. I had no idea they did away with the dates. She had the greatest honeymoon ever with lots of wonderful memories. However, her new husband suffered a heart attack while jogging Labor Day weekend and was instantly gone. All so sad. They loved cruising and had hopes to do a lot of it.
