Pre-cruise hotels in Fort Lauderdale

We are cruising on the Eclipse on December 1, 2012 and are wondering about a good place to stay in Fort Lauderdale for two nights before the cruise. Any suggestions for a convenient place and one that is reasonably priced would be appreciated. HELP!!!

"Reasonable" to you might be a budget buster to me -- care to specify a price range and help to narrow things down? :confused:

Check www.sunny.org for info on most FLL area hotels.

We like the Embassy Suites in the 17th St. area - big rooms, nice pool, great breakfast, shopping and dining options within walking distance and free happy hour! :D

In early December, you should get really good deals on priceline. FLL is a particularly good place to take advantage of priceline. The downtown or beach zones are generally the preferred areas.

I would stay at the Embassy Suites.

 

Very nice hotel with a nice happy hour and a great breakfast and nice location.

If you want to be by the beach, Bahia Mar and Alhambra are both reasonable and convenient.

We stay at the Hampton inn in plantation. Also leave our car there....great shuttle to and from free..bfast free. Nice area too....

I am on the Oasis OTS departing Dec 1, 2012. I booked the Gallery 1 Doubletree for Nov 30 with Hotwire. It was $99 plus taxes and fees for about $120 for one night. I wanted to have dinner at Trulucks (stone crab) and it is walking distance from the hotel - no taxi. I have stayed on the beach - but I won't have time for strolling along the shore so this works out for this trip.

While we have never stayed there, we are booked with the Cambria Suites, rated number one on TripAdvisor. Great rate for a one bedroom suite for $128.00 with tax.:) Hopefully we made the right choice.

Thank you so much for the many suggestions. I have just read the responses so now I am off to searching for a hotel. December 1 is just around the corner!
